Digging through boxes of old magazines and whatnot, I recently came across an old issue of the Heel & Toe from April 1983. Below is a page from that issue where Charlie Thompson discusses "that all time problem of COURSE WORKERS". In light of the recent many page thread on course working, I thought this was a classic moment from THSCC's past that probably has repeated itself over and over since then. :D I do recall it being difficult to get everyone to cooperate with working back then, especially at the Rocky Mount airport event for some reason.

LOL, interestingly that month was when I bought an original IBM PC. This type looks a heck of a lot better than the dot matrix output from the original IBM PC printer!

And new people wonder why the folks in charge get hot under the collar when they hear complaints about course working. It's been a problem for a long, long time and many club leaders have tried their best to "fix it".

Truth is, getting course workers on station, on time is like trying to herd house cats across a river. If you get most of them in going in the general direction you want without getting scratched you tend to call it good enough and move on to other problems.
