Carl,

I thought I heard someone say that it was a top 3 finish that got you bumped.

I may be wrong. It has been known to happen before.

AHEM yourself, I have been playing Extreme Makeover Home Edition since last Thursday.

This is a question for the 3 Stooges: autocross@thscc.com

That is the BEST way to get an OFFICIAL answer about something.

To be honest, I dont remember the exact breakdown (which means we probably made it too complicated  ) but I think it safe to say if you have trophied in Novice in all 3 of the events in 06, you are probably headed to open class.

I have an email out to the AutoX VPs, and expect to hear something definitive back soon. I'm not going to make something up just because they can't get their act together.

Carl,
Your application for Autocross VP next year has been received and approved. Congratulations.

If someone had their act together at the beginning of the year and made the changes when we decided on them....hmmmmm.

The rule is 5 events or 2 trophies 3rd place or better.

Didn't you say in your initial post that you had a 6th, 3rd, and 1st?

Based on what Stephen said above wouldn't that move you out to open class? (2 trophies 3rd place or better)

Ok, so I have trophied at my last 3 events, 6th in L'burg, 3rd in Sanford and 1st in Danville. Does this bump me out of NOV? .

And the answer is YES.

Novice Class (NOV) - If you are new to autocross, you may compete in our Novice Class. In Novice Class you will be competing only against other drivers with the same amount of autocross experience that you have. You will be eligible for a period of five (5) events, or until you win a trophy twice in the top 3 positions (i.e. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd), whichever comes first. Please note that this is a change from the 2005 policy. You are not required to run in Novice Class even if you are eligible.

so is this the new rule? Ryan, you told us 5 events or 3 of any trophy? Us noob coords should probably be in on this.
