Ok, so I have trophied at my last 3 events, 6th in L'burg, 3rd in Sanford and 1st in Danville. Does this bump me out of NOV? I still feel that even though I have done well, I have a lot to learn before I go up against the likes of Westerfield, Casto, et. al. Does the rule as found on the home page still apply, or has it been changed/updated?

For reference, here it is:

Quote:
Novice Class (NOV) - Competitors are eligible for novice class if they have less than 1 year of autocross experience with any club. Once entered in Novice, competitors may compete in Novice for the remainder of the season, and (if they are club members) compete for a year-end THSCC Novice Class trophy. Drivers are not required to run in Novice Class even if they are eligible.

If there is a year end trophy I would like to compete for it in the NOV class and "graduate" next year to running full time in STS.

The rule this year (IIRC) is 2 trophies in the top 3 places.

My opinion is that if you're trophying regularly in NOV you should move on up. Make room in the trophies for other NOVs and get in there and mix it up with the better open guys. You'll get better even faster. Of course, I don't think we should even *have* a year long NOV trophy, so my opinion on competing for that is obvious. :)

The real question to ask yourself is do you want to get better or do you want to win trophies?

If anyone wants THSCC trophies, I have a ton of them I'll give you ;) Getting better is the key, but I do understand the trophies 'legitimizing' your abilities. Hell, I wouldn't give up a National Tour/ProSolo trophy for anything. Even still, getting better will get you more trophies in the open classes :) - AB

If I want to trophy I need to move out of novice. It looks like there are only one or two other cars in DM. Instant third, YES!

NO. Please send an email to webmaster@thscc.com, like we keep asking y'all to do. A PM is useless, even worse, because it makes you think the message went somewhere useful. An email to webmaster@thscc.com goes to both me and Emmie, so we've both got a copy and one can act on it if the other can't. Plus, since it's an email, it we can flag it and file it to make sure we don't forget.

Repeating, please don't PM me or Emmie for something you want Webmaster to do. Send email to webmaster@thscc.com. Thanks.

Ah, yes, but with only 3 in the class you'll have to be 1st to trophy. 3 entries = 1 trophy placement.

So my computer is back among the living, and I'm catching up on my outstanding webmaster stuff. Dan sent me an email requesting I change the Novice text to read "you are bumped out of Novice after 5 events or 3 trophies." I asked him if those could be any trophies or if they had to be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophies to count against the requirement (as Vincent thought above). Dan never got back to me on that.

So how bout it VPs? What's the rule this year? I don't need any IIRCs, give me the authori-tie!
