How about the next time we run an autocross at Laurinburg on Saturday, on Sunday we throw 90% of the cones back in the bus and have a Solo Trial on Sun?

I can imagine a fun course from the main runway over the crossover taxiway onto the taxiway and around the P with 8 or 9 cones just marking the apexes and the bad expansion joints. Mmmmm.

Think of how easy T&S would be!!!! No cone calls!!!!! Only DNFs for people going off course!!!!!

What are the odds on some of the members going in the grass??

I would say that Randy Melton would be even odds.

Any others?

The catch is the third-party safety requirements. If I remember right, RBC Center wanted that too. I would rather have an event or two there :-)

Go to an NCCC autocross. They call it the high end of low speed... In other words they expect 80mph or so. No triple digits. Last one I ran was at Sanford in my C4. I hit 80 on the main runway. And slalomed on the taxiway way too fast. It's a cross between a drag race | autocross | road race.

NCCC has Sanford this weekend for the 3-day Memorial Day weekend. Take a ride down and watch. It's entertaining to say the least. This year they are running 2 course at once. The thing I like about their events is they do 14 runs per day. But the entry limit is capped at like 60.

I like Mike's idea if the site is Laurinburg. Big wide main runway for road course portion, taxiway for autocross portion, and the P for the drift competition. And we can leave a section in the middle as an alternate path for the rallycross folks to cut through the field.
