no, really and truly, that was my complaint, I fully acknowledge the reasoning behind 2 runs in the first heats and 3 in the second 2. Thats a timing issue, and everybody likes more runs. The issue is about course workers, not about who set up the event or who's unappreciative of who. I brought the issue up b/c I worked through 3 grids of cars working, not b/c it was 2 hours. . .

Here is a guy that got the A/B four group run order. Here is a guy that wanted to do his part by checking in when call to work. And you guys want to bash him because he "got it" and did his part. So by understanding all the rules and paying attention and reporting promptly is a little miffed. He offered to step up and try to help the situation. Specificallyt since he is new and understands what the new people are going through. Unbelievable.

Stop calling and sending workers out 30-45 minutes early. If you are sending workers out to their positions 30 minutes before the heat is complete, that is the WC problems. That is not Brice's problem. Because I was at the driver's meeting and did hear mention to check in and then go chill for 30 minutes and watch to see when the next to last car in line B moved to staging area.

Maybe I did miss that explaination....anyone else catch it?

Brice, you now know the secret.

thanks for your support jim, but this thread has just degenerated into Vincent lecturing me on how I don't do enough to contribute to the club. . .

I will continue to contribute my annual dues, my entry fees, and my work at the events as so many members do. I appreciate the work that gets done behind the scenes very much. I've already volunteered to do what I can to help the situation. There is a problem I observed, and I've figured out a way to solve it, and I will do so on my own time and money. I'm sorry I can't contribute more, but I simply can't. Its not a good thing to try and pressure anyone who raises a VALID complaint to service as a wc, you know full well I wouldn't be suitable for the job (heck, I don't even know the run groups!). Now Vincent, I'll say again, PLEASE, PLEASE just leave me alone. . .

No problem Brice. I guess I will get to meet you at Sanford. I am sure we will be working 4th heat at the furthest worker station :-)

Sorry you feel that way.

I can never remember where we stopped an event because of workers being late.

I stopped an event once years ago. Might have been before your time. I'd worked registration and 2.5 heats in timing and had had it. I called for a replacement a couple of times, then stopped the runs. That got a replacement really really quick. :)
