Found this helpful self-classing chart on the ODR website. Perhaps someone can make it a sticky or put it in the most helpful place for newbies.

Don't forget the website. Don't have to be a member to get to that info. :)

I've added the above link to the menu:
Autocross -> You Oughta Know About... -> General Car Classing Info

Unless they changed it, his brake information for SP is incorrect.

The information is not totally correct but it will get people close. I think it is a good tool to help novices figure out what class.

This is a joke from another f-body driver.
You will be in the class that has a car that pushes really badly! You would be better off with the 315's in front!

No! The "lid" is the air box cover on top of the air cleaner before the maf! We change that to get better air flow along with a high flow air filter. That mod, plus a cat back exhaust, can get up 15 to 20 HP. (You can never have too much HP!
Most f-body guys add subframe connectors. If he has those, he will be in Street Mod. It is a stupid rule because they really don't add any autocross performance. They just reduce creaks and pops.

I know nothing about subframe connectors in f-body cars, but....

If it is reducing creaks and pops, I assume that means it is reducing body/frame flex and in the end, wouldn't that go into the "performance" category as it should have an effect on handling? 8)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Can you even here creaks and pops in that car?

Not according to Sam Strano. It does seem like it would, but I'm not going to disagree with him. I think they do help with weight transfer when we drag race. Best of all, they make it easier to jack the car up to change wheels.
