Well, I ran TIR this year because I thought I would be taking the Supra down to do an engine swap (still currently working on the engine) and wanted to be able to run the 928 and still get points. Not like I really had a chance of winning, but I at least wanted to run against the same people all year. My next set of tires are going to be Victoracers and I'll be back in SM open with the Supra, so you BS guys will have to battle it out without me.

What about this idea. Make TIR class pax only. No trophies, no season points, no nothing. Its a total FUN class. If you want to compete, go to open. If you want to have a place to have fun, run TIR.....

Look at Kevin Allen being a try hard about autocross.

Oh, and I have to say it again - the PROBLEM: TIR isn't broken - Open is. Sorry, but some people who have been running TIR aren't going to like the change (if it happens), but it will be good for the club and in the long run.

And just last year we ran DSP on those same 10 year old Azenis tires (as a test of the freshened engine). Needless to say they were no longer grippy, but we had fun sliding around at Cherry Point.
Instead of TIR class we need a CTC (Cheap Tire Class). One of the prime reasons for TIR was to avoid the cost of another set of tires/wheels. When we brought out the Z3 on tread wear 420 M&S tires it was a hoot, but wasn't particularly fast, but was amusing for driver, passenger, and spectators alike.

Well... no. The price point moved down a bit.. for example, a 275/35-18 Hoosier A6 is around $340, and a 275-35/18
Direzza Z2 is going to be around $260. But let's try to figure out a way to define an "affordable" class. Let me know when you get it sorted :)
