A little late but, the event details are now posted on the website for this weekend.

For your convenience...

It's that time again!!! That's right folks, it's the 2006 Annual Test-n-Tune! Time to shake the rust off and work the bugs out. Here is some basic info on how the event will be run this year:

This event will be limited to 80 participants. If you have preregistered and cannot attend, PLEASE, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR NAME from the preregistration file! There will be no need for numbers at this event and, obviously, no scoring. This event will not be open to drivers who have run fewer than 3 autocrosses with Tarheel or some other club (i.e., no true novices). At this time, this event is open to members only. If you are not a member, but were hoping to come out and shake out the cobwebs, check back here closer to the event date. If all 80 slots have not been filled by THSCC members, this event may open to non-members. Remember that Laurinburg is not close to gas stations, air, food, and so forth. We ask that you not leave the site during the day unless it is essential. If you are not going to order lunch from Christine, bring a bag lunch. No overnight camping is allowed on site! Gates will open at 7:30a.m. the morning of the event. ABSOLUTELY NO WANDERING AROUND THE AIRPORT. STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF OUR ALLOTTED EVENT SPACE!

ENTRANCE
For this event, the Golden Knights entrance will be used. Gate workers should be at the entrance to have you sign the waiver, and to provide handouts for the day's activities.

PIT AREA
For this event, the pit area will be located between the two courses on the main runway. Look for the designated area (marked with cones) when you arrive.

LAYOUT - WORKING/RUNNING
We will have two courses this year designed by none other than THSCC's finest, Eric Peterson. There will be one course (untimed) set up near the Golden Knight's site entrance. We will also have a second (timed) course at the opposite end using the traditional "P" section.

We will split the attendees into two groups. One group will report to each course. Those groups will then be split as half will run while the other half works. Each driver will get a set number of runs (probably around 6) on each course.

After each group gets finishes their morning course runs, we will take a short break for lunch. After lunch, the two groups will swap courses and we will start running again.

If time allows we may do "fun runs" on the timed course, but remember until DST begins it will get dark early. Cross your fingers, but don't count on it!

ANNUAL TECH
At the Test-n-Tune, there will be an annual tech station. Similar to last year, this will give everyone the chance to get their car signed off for the rest of the year. You will also receive a sticker showing that you completed annual tech. Of course, you will still have to tech your own car at every event even after receiving your annual tech sticker. The tech station will be set up before the event and will close once the event begins. Tech forms will be available at the tech station, or you can print one from here and bring it with you.

LUNCH
Christine Allen will be selling the usual yummy burgers and dogs for lunch. Lunch is NOT included in the price of this event.

LODGING
Christine Allen has also negotiated for us to get our normal rate of $65.00 a night for a King or Double room at the Hampton Inn (thanks again Christine!). The phone number there is 910-277-1516. Ask for the Tarheel Sports Car Club discount.
