haha perfect.
we're thinking about having name tags for novices (green) and for mentors (red). itd make coming up to strangers easier for the n00bs throughout the day if needed.
ha, now i can call people, noobs, yess.
I think minimum requirement for a mentor would simply to be to meet with a novice in the morning at the novice meeting, add anything me and PJ will forget during the meeting, let them ride with you on your first run, and then ride with them on their first run.
So it will only occupy the first half of the first heat in theory and then youre done! of course if wanted/needed and you'd like to, you can hang out w/ your n00b as much as you want. we'd also like you to keep wearing the nametag so novices know who to ask throughout the day if they have any.
So it won't be hard at all! come on, help us out.
So, as we are approaching the 'warm up' part of the season, is there anything else that you guys would like from us 'mentors'? Have you gotten name tags/identification ready yet (need help?)? Still doing a Novice Course walk (which MAY not work on LONG courses...)? Is it worth seeing what all of the mentors who have signed up are racing this year to make sure we have 'n00b coverage' for all heats (I mean, hey, I have a 4-door car, so I *can* stick 3 n00bs in the car with me ;D)? Do we need to be in a 'specific location' (i.e. Noob booth) for that heat so they have a place to come talk to people?
Maybe a lot of 'random' questions, but I am just curious, OR we can just play it by ear. Just trying to 'ping' the NOV Coords to see what they think
