What a great event!! Even if it was about 5 degrees hotter than the 5th level of HELL!!!!  Nice course design Ryan. It had some fast places and some that would catch you if you didn't plan ahead. I managed to find that spot leading into the second turn around on my last (and fastest) run.

Thank you to all of the bus people! You all did a great job as usual! Because of your attention to detail, auditing was VERY easy. We only had to make ONE correction on the cone count. That is the best I've seen the audit in the 3 years I've been in the bus. Way to go!!! :woo: :cheer: :hyper2: :redcool:

It was a great event despite the heat. I hope everybody who suffered from heat exhaustion is feeling ok. I can't ever remember drinking that much during a day and *still* losing 4lbs by the time I got home.

I thought the courses for both days were fun and challenging. I glad we did the "sweepers" clockwise the 2nd day so I didn't have to swap my tires from left to right.

Thanks to everybody that put in the effort to make it a fun 2 days. I feel like I haven't been able to contribute much this season for one reason or another and I really appreciate the extra work the officers and everybody involved put in so everybody else can have fun. Thanks guys and gals!

Jim

Awesome event, both courses were great and a heck of a lot of fun to drive. Tarheel truely is the best club around. It is truely an honor to be associated with such a great bunch of people. On my way to the event Saturday afternoon, my car's radiator cracked, but Matt Roush kept me in the action and let me cash in on a co-drive he offered me earlier in the season. Thanks again Matt. A huge thanks goes out to all those that came rushing to my aid this afternoon though when my body's radiator broke. I can't thank enough, Sally, Scott, Vincent, Bernie, my bro, and all the others that helped me out when I was really hurting. I made it to the hospital ok and 4 IV bags later...I am doing great. Thanks again to everyone. Lesson learned....thirsty or not, keep on drinking water on days like today. I had a bottle of water in my hand the good majority of the day, but apparently, it just wasn't enough.

Great event. :D
Great course. :D
FYI on my best run (the only one I've checked so far) Miles' Vette on VictoRacers pulled sustained G's over 1.13 g with a peak of 1.27g (right turn) cornering and about 1 g braking peak (in to the "Chicago Box" on the first straight. Not too shabby for a "low grip" surface that makes VictoRacers squeel

Stephen,

The "trick" is to actually drink the water . . .

Glad you recovered quickly. :)

Everybody please give NOVICES PJ Aspesi and Dan Durusky each a pat on the back the next time you see them - they helped us set up, mark, and tear down the Sunday course on Saturday, then they helped me set up, mark & sweep the Saturday night course for the next few hours after that. (110° heat index at the time) And after certain individuals took it upon themselves to rearrange our course just before the event was supposed to start, they helped me change it back. Thanks, guys. :D

Also, if you were within earshot of the shouting match on Saturday I'd like to apologize for my language - I was a little angry at the time, and I tend to curse a lot when I'm angry.

Great event despite the heat! Probably the smoothest one we've had this year.

Thanks to all who helped make today happen. Ryan, the course was a blast. Having results posted this soon is great! Now that its been done once, we'll expect it as a norm.

Stephen, glad you're feeling better.

The more I run at G'ville, the more I like it. See staging, start, and finish = easy for T&S. Great spectator site. Easy courseworker logistics. A/Ced bathrooms!

Don't get me wrong, I like our other sites too. It's a nice position to be in to have trouble deciding on a "favorite" site.

All we need is a paved 1000x1000ft concrete site next to a hotel with a pool, we'd be all set.

I've got to say that I had a great time, with the exception of the massive headache I was receiving which made me leave after my last run (sorry I didn't stay to help clean up, those who know, know I always do) Thanks to Ryan and Vincent on a great course and speed in which it took to run the event. Thanks to Christine for the food provided. Thanks to the owner for letting us use it and extra facilities that he didn't need to. Thanks to Brian and Stacy for letting me codrive the STI (even if I was the last one to run on "uber" heated Azeni's  ) I just hope I have as much fun at my next AutoX as I've had at my first 2. :D

I suggest the pool on saturday and he said that was a good idea!

If you don't have enough water and no money I would be happy to give you water. :D

What a great event! The heat sucked but there was some shade thank goodness. I learned a lot on saturday, thanks to Ryan Vince and Kevin for showing me how to setup a course. Thanks to Walter for letting me drive his Camaro  ! Thanks to Ryan for telling everyone that he liked my car (and its amazing stopping abilities :D ) Thanks to Christine and her helpers for keeping us fed!!!! I'm glad everyone gave Saturday nights course a chance, it really WAS a fun course!

Congrats to Dan, everything finally came together for him! he had a rough weekend so that was a happy ending It was cool to see Kevin drive the .:R32, now we can see what it really can do!
Congrats to Gwen too, she was right behind me in the standings, I better watch out :D

Excellent event, the only point I got except the heat is the grid space. It need to be bigger or we do it like the spring event
where we where calling only one group at a time. When A was starting is second run and leaving place on the grid, B was able to come fill the empty spot that way we can do it with smaller grid space. Other than that, again an excellent event.

I agree with Mike, I think this is one of our best sites. For only the second real event there, things worked out very nicely. I don't even want to think what it would have been like in Laurinburg in 101 degree heat

Rememeber after the first event we wondered about the grip when the surface was hot...we have a good data point now.
