The CCR group uses the "run and get done" format with four run groups each making their four runs in sequence. They run a more fair approach than VMSC by rotating the run groups from one event to the next. Stock classes may run in the first group at the irst event, the fourth group at the second event, then the third group and so on.

She was very impressive. I work timing and scoring with the same software, and I'm not sure how she was able to do that...

The reasont the announcer was in the trailer was because she was sitting behind the timing and scoring people and reading off the screen the updates after every run. I have limited experience with timing and scoring, but in no way have I seen the AX SW to update the 'standings' on a run per run basis. Of course, I have not opened up all the 'optional' windows when I worked. I only entered times and car numbers/classes.

I know to remedy the problem of the timing and scoring crew being smashed with the announcer was going to be solved by bringing an additional monitor placed OUTSIDE the bus that the competitors/announcer could look at and announce from.

Regardless, I think that *THIS* was THE BEST thing that they could have done. Having someone announcing your runs, times, current position was VERY HELPFUL. I knew what I was running, where I was in class and what the guy behind me was running as long as my radio was on.

That saved me LOTS of time. That is a very note worthy addition to any auotX day.

Although VMSC format is "run and done", it is unfair. They run in car number order. The secret is to have a perm number in the the third run group (51-75). You have a clean course, watched 2 heats and just got done with a course walk.

Personally, I love the rush of runs 2-4. My heart rate is up, the tires are warm, the hands are shaking, the course is fresh.

Given that situation, I'm sure glad I don't work T&S for Triad. As a member of our T&S crew, I would have an extremely difficult time doing my job if an announcer was anywhere inside the bus. Even with the announcer outside the bus (and loudspeaker nearby), it's often difficult at best to hear cone penalties, etc., over the announcer.

This is actually one of the cool things about AXWare. If you know where to look, it will give you the time difference to the car in front and to the leader. You just have to configure the window right. IIRC.

AXWare is great. Very versitile and if there is something you would like to add, just call Vitek and he will try to get it for you.

Todd <--AXWare convert.

The T&S truck was within 20' fo both the start and finish line...ideal. There were very few DNF's or cone calls coming...ideal. The loudspeakers were placed facing the finish line and grid, not the truck...very nice. You could hear the announcer clearly with your time and cones.

Plus, I think they only have 4 people that work T&S. I really think the 4 and done allows you to get into a better rythm in T&S.

The only downside is they were slow on printing results. If you want to run the 4 and done, you really need to print results after each run. That is in a perfect world though.

Karen was one of the very first users in the area with AXWare. She bought it when she ran NASA-VA. Since she was the event chairwoman, ran the event, ran T&S...she should know the ins and outs of AXWare. That is where I first saw it.

What can we learn from it? The answer is simple. After every event, no matter the club, there is a [fingerquote] suggestion [/fingerquote] thread on thsccforums.com.
