Old Dominion SCCA @ Pungo Field this Sat & Sun.

Any body planning to attend? I've been wanting to check Pungo Field out for a while (nice Govt concrete!), so I'm probably going Sunday.

Myautoevents.com shows only 23 registered.

Ryan and I have been three times. FYI, it's concrete but very small. All of their courses require at least two laps. They make you run in numerical order. They have no trophies. Make sure you get good directions, it's not easy to find.

Let me paraphrase for Vincent: watching the cup race is going to be a hell of a lot more fun than a day at Pungo.

I'd hold out for when they run at the AC-4 Hovercraft lot. It's not as grippy, but the site is smooth and flat (minor slope). The courses tend to be pretty good there. - AB

I've raced there about 6 times and agree with all of the above. I was told it was an old Coast Guard base that was closed in 1947. The concrete is really old (like Laurinburg) and the course is designed around holes in the concrete.
The space is small and it is the only driveable concrete left.
The people are nice and they run their events well.

Thanks for the input. Guess I'll stay home and get ready for VIR full next weekend.

That's right and the view is good too.
Kevin might have a problem getting onto the site. :)
I wonder what would happen if Randy showed up at the gate???? I'm sure with his driving record and reputation, his name is on some bad list!
