Well, my planned vactation for next weekend is on hold until my dad can get his boat motor fixed. I did not see where there is an entry limit for the event? There are 100 entries now. I want to wait until the deadline to see if the boat will be fixed in time.

Marcus,

I hope you can make it out man. You ought to sign up just in case they have a cap on entries. :whoknows:

It's just another autoX. I am not worried about 'serious' competition yet. I am still getting used to the car, and I wanna throw a few more things at it. Screw 'championships'. You can have that.

I could honestly care less about the 'competition'. I have my own personal goals I wanna complete. If I lose -- I lose. That's the way it is. Those people are better than me, and I will accept it. The car is NO WHERE near I want it to feel, and to heck if I am just going to 'settle' with it.

Oh well. :) Have fun at your 'serious' competition. I will have fun and accomplishing what I am looking to do.

Thanks for being SOoooo understanding.

Blech.

Chill out. Nobody was being a jerk to you. You complained that the cost was too high and implied it wasn't worth it. Well, it isn't worth it to *you*. It's a championship event, and as such, they cost more. We had people last year who *still* used it as a test and tune and nobody complained about that. They didn't complain about cost, and we didn't complain they only showed up one day. We won't complain this year, either.

I didn't expect to win last year...and I don't EVER expect to win. I just want to drive well and ideally drive better than my last event. I'll steal Jim's line and say I'll be happy with a top ten finish, assuming I drive well. *shrug*

So if it's too expensive for you, don't bother. But there is nothing in the cost worth whining about. Nor getting up in arms when asked about why you are whining.

Can I get my entry fee back if I do not attend? It says you have to pay the entry fee when you register.

Check out this link:

http://www.soloii.com/

I'm under the impression that you pay at the event. I didn't pay anything yet to get on the list. I guess they are a little more layed back about pre-payment rules and so forth.

Also,
They're having pizza included in the entry fee.

They mean register at the event, not register online. You should signup if you think you're going to go. Just remember to remove your name beforehand if you do end up going on vacation.

Ahh, I thought you had to pay online. I registered.

Sorry...been away from the forums for a while. I will be there in DS. Looking forward to seeing all my Tarheel buddies again. I will not have new tires, but I did flip the Avons in preparation for this weekend. 8)

I realize this...that is why I have only owned Honda's since I have been driving (2 Civics and 2 Integras).

So, with 4-5 days left to register there are 107 signed up. Tarheel leads all clubs with 39 drivers registered, folllowed by Triad with 33, CCR with 26, HSCC with 2. I count 5 from Blue Ridge Region in Virginia and two that I can't assign anywhere. All of this is subject to argument because some drivers are members of two or more clubs, some aren't really members anywhere, and some I don't really know. I just based it mostly on where they drive the most frequently.

However although we lead in most drivers registered, Triad presently leads in most classes with drivers registered. Our 39 drivers are in 17 classes, while Triad has their 33 drivers spread across 20 classes. We have 25 of our 39 drivers in just 7 classes. We have 4 in AS, 3 in CS, 5 in DS, 3 in ES, 3 in CSP, 3 in STU, and 3 SM.

Of the classes currently listed with drivers, THSCC presently has no drivers registered in SS, BS, DSL, FS, ASP, BSP, FSP, BP, CP, DP, EP, DM, STSL, or SML. There are other classes where no one from any club has signed up. This all assumes that under-subscribed classes will run, rather than for example there being a lumped PAX-based Ladies class.
Sure would be nice if we could some Tarheel drivers to enter these non-represented classes, particularly if they were good drivers that could bring home a win.

I'm really looking forward to next weekend and hoping for good weather. Even if AS is looking alot like a Tarheel club event with Miles, Dick, Chris, and me all registered.

Donnie (or ???),

It would help to know a couple of things ahead of time if practical:

1) What time do the gates open on Saturday?

2) What will the run order be and how many heats?

Thanks,

As it stands now, ASP would be an easier win than AS, but for me it wouldn't mean as much, so I'll slug it out with the Miles, Dick, and Chris (and maybe the other clubs' drivers).

Scott, your avatar may imply an AS or ASP in your future?
