So I was looking for the thread with all the event chairs listed, but couldn't find it... :?

Anyway, the event I'm co-chairing (October 8 & 9 in Laurinburg) is a little over 3 months away, and if we really want to have an "advanced school" that weekend, it's time to start planning. So it's decision time... chair an autox or compete at the SCCA Rallycross national championship? Some things are developing that will probably lead to me being about 1100 miles away that weekend - not totally sure, but I don't want to wait to make a decision; so would somebody want to either replace me for Laurinburg in October or just trade events? :D

Speaking of Danville. Will we have more of the site to use than the last time we went up there?

There was mention last time that we "might" get more of the large runway to use.

Not that I'm aware of. The area we've been running in is all that we have access to.

For what it's worth there are going to be *several* SCCA national champions in attendence at our event (in addition to the regular national champions). It might be a nice idea for the event chairs to try and bring in some outside help for course design and insight.

At Triad's last event, they pretty much stuck to the same area we used last time.

That might be the worst idea evarrr. Too many cooks spoil the broth, especially when they're all right all the time.

Just get the course map from Anthony Hodges for the course that TSCC ran last month. It was an excellent course...

You forgot to add: "But we can design a much better course."

It might be, but notice that I didn't say "consult" with the national champion (Mike Johnson), I was suggesting that *he* do the course design and the rest of us just watch and learn. One cook, many silent apprentices. It would be a shame if we didn't take advantage of this kind of opportunity when it presents itself.

As president, feel free to ask him. But Junior may just want to come out and have a little fun too :)
