In my opinion, the Ayer courses fed into everything the Mini does well:

The courses were tailor made for a Mini S. I think the '02-'04 Mini S would have worked a Celica GT on that course. Rob Foley stated he drove about as good as he could (ProSolo Champion, has finished top 5 at Nationals at least 5 times, many Tour wins as well), yet Mark was too fast. Funny, for Jeff Jacobs had nothing for Rob.
Chiles has done stuff like this in the past, when driving a HS Mini. I do think that the Mini has an advantage, but it's not an overdog. - AB

What else is left? Sweepers? The Mini does those well too!
Mark is excellent in the Mini, but he doesn't have super powers to make it fly, it can't do more than the car is capable of!!!! (and he showed just what it was capable of...)
Jeff had an off day as he himself described it.
Aaron, you can champion the Celi until the cows come home, but no matter how much you wish it neither the GT or the GTS can come close to matching the 05 MiniS with the new shocks (only been on since week before Oscoda), they are a dead horse:
Ayer:
Mark C. (1st G/S PAX .782) Raw time 102.833
Rob F. Celica GT(2nd G/S) 104.851
Jeff Jacobs (3rd G/S) 106.238
Jeff Hurst (2nd STS PAX .799 ie faster than GS) Celica GT 105.668
6th in STS 2004 Championships
Aaron B. (5th STS) Celica GTS 107.152
Talk about not having anything for the Mini, even driven by Jacobs!
