Northeast Divisional/Ron Katona Memorial Autocross
The First Ron Katona Memorial Autocross will take place July 30-31, 2005, with a kick off event Friday July 29th featuring fun runs, food, games and a silent auction. The event will be held at FedEx Field in Landover, MD.

As the SCCA Northeast Divisional championship, this event is sure to attract plenty of top-level competitors, This designation brings with it another level of competition, excitement, and challenges. The two and a half day format ensures close competition, and plenty of time for camaraderie and fun. As a result though of being a Divisional, this event is open to SCCA members only. As more specifics or details are forthcoming they will be posted on this website or contact Travis Dixon at 301-674-8041 or travisd at tubas.net. Registration opened on May 25th. You may register for this event by going to dlbracing.com or clicking here. Thank you in advance for your help in making this event memorable. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you wish to play with the big boys....this should be a fun event. The site is awesome and my guess is Mr. Piccone will be helping with course design :)

I have thought about going up and running. Several of the guys I know from New York are going to this event and running. They are trying to talk me into going to gain the experience of a national level event. Since only one of my friends of there is a true national level driver th rest of us could all aim to not finish last. 8) I am hoping to run STX for that event, since I don't have r-comp tires for DS. Anyone have a rear sway bar I can borrow or rent for that event.

You wouldn't be much (if any) better off in STX on STX tires with stock suspension than you would be in DS without R tires.

Tom & I guesstimated that on the Sanford course, my WRX was close to 2 seconds slower than his - part of that was the extra 60 hp, but most of it was the suspension. :(

Same weekend as the Belle Chere ... probably the only ax in the country to run on city streets. Average autocross, but great festival!

The Belle Chere is unique in that it is run in the streets. However, keep in mind those streets have curbs! I saw a VW hit the curb last year. Needless to say, the car left with about 45 degrees of positive camber on the driver's side.

It is a fun festival though...
