Then keep it off the track and do autox until you get some miles on it. I hate to see you swap engines so soon after the install. I was just busting your chops.

Its all good, I took it to VIR knowing that I had a good chance of blowing it up. I did it and dont regret a minute of it, I had that much fun.

This motor should be with me for a LONG, LONG time.

I was serious. I was estatic to see the car pull back into the yard under its own power Saturday. It even got some TLC on Sunday with the installation of a CD player and some sanding to the rear quater panels.

I thought all the 405HP models had that very 405 HP badge on the fender? I stand corrected!

Actually you're right Vincent. It's one badge on each front fender. The Z06 letters are in a large font with the Z being red. Underneath the 06 letters in a smaller font is 405HP. That is the only obvious difference between an 01 and 02 that I'm aware of. The 01 didn't show the HP rating.

Yeah Chris. Lower rings. 02 fixed that and a number of other things. From 02-04 they remain fairly unchanged.

I think we should be careful with how we refer to the new trophies as a "downgrade". This undermines all of the work and efforts that have been put into the program. I, for one, see the new trophies as an improvement, since I can display them without dedicating an entire wall to them.

In my opinion, if you have a complaint about something, it would be beneficial to express that complaint in a manner that doesn't disrepect those who have put hours of work into it.

At their introduction, at the Laurinburg event, we received A LOT of unsolicited positive comments on the new trophies. Vincent keep that in mind, because, currently it's about 10:1 positive to negative.

Yep, Jason is clearly still in the "chill mode" even with a nice gash on his leg. That's what you get for disrespecting the Arizona by not visting it two trips to Hawaii in a row. :?

Okay, next time we go, we'll go visit it. We did at least fly over it and I got to see it from the air. Does that count?

I see that nobody noticed that DS was won by a Tarheel member who walked away with a second lead. That someone was me. I don't wanna give myself to much credit because I am still not as fast as the Type-Rs at our own events. I would like to give a shout out to Scott Farmer also for giving me some competition and he took second place. So Tarheel members took 1 and 2 in DS out of 5 cars. Just thought you all should know.

Thanks for the shoutout, Keith. I think it's going to be an interesting season in DS with both of us in town 8) Nice driving though. Pay attention to this guy...he's doing something right if he's less than 1.5 seconds off FTD-Stock with a street tired DS car. I would have been at Greenville on Saturday too if school didn't get in the way :(

saving the club money may indeed be an honorable goal, but I find it hard to justify the downgraded trophies with all that was spent on "cool" equipment. Remember without event competitors or happy members

Here's my last post on the trophy subject in this thread.

Ask yourself this question. Would I still run THSCC events even if there were NO TROPHIES of ANY KIND?

If the answer is yes, then show up, run, have fun, and quit complaning. If your answer in no, fine, go run with Triad because we are really hurting for entries at our events these days.

As I've said before, if you don't like the way we (the THSCC Officers) run this show, then put your name on ballot and vote us out of office in 2006. You'll find the pay, hours, and work load sucks...oh yeah you get to hear people who don't lift a finger to help gripe and complain a lot for your trouble.

In our case we are paid members of and run with 5 different clubs. We don't select events based on the trophies, but rather on schedule, location (quality and distance) and it's potential benefit in improving our nationals performance.
I don't remember in the 5 years I've been a member of this club tho the officers as a group publicly complaining about how overworked and underapreciated they are and getting testy with anyone who questions or criticizes their decisions. Maybe it's time to do a little introspective into what THEY expected when they raised their hand at nomination time? If you really feel that way you certainly have the option to step down rather than alienating the membership. I certainly DO appreciate the work, BTDT too many times to ever want to do it again, but the attacks on those that express their opinion and are not officers is not constructive either. No where in the club bylaws does it say you must volunteer to do anything but pay your dues and abide by the club rules to be a member in GOOD STANDING EQUAL to every other member. Membership or participation drop off because of dissatisfaction doesn't happen overnight but does happen, just ask the SCCA.
Keep telling members they should go run with another club and you just might get your wish.

I am glad to hear that Shawna did good also. I spoke to her during the day but didn't see where she finished. Another THSCC member putting up a good showing.

Ok, Im gonna lock this one right now. There are good points and bad points thru this whole thread, we dont need another 3 pages of "Take this job and shove it", "New trophies SUX" or "Triad Roxors teh Bewbies".

So far I can count the number of dissatisfied customers on one hand, if there are more who think the new trophy program just flat sux:

autocross@thscc.com

We entered into this knowing that some feathers could be ruffled. I have given an outlet to those who feel slighted by the new program. Good or bad, I want your opinions.

Further threads/posts will be locked or deleted that are dispariging towards members. In other words have some damn tact people.
