As a fellow competitor in STT, I could care less what you did with your steering wheel. I will NOT protest anyone for something that trivial.

Are you sure there isnt some mutation of your year Miata that you could use the wheel out of. IE- I am assuming that SOME Miata's came without the airbag, what would it take to equip your car to that package, remember you dont have to do the stuff that is legal to change (ie wheels, swaybars, springs, spoilers).

You people just need to learn to buy older cars and you dont have to worry about such things as power windows, air bags and ABS.

Hope that helps.

Unfortunately all Miatas sold in the USA came with a driver's side airbag. So no swap is available.

I am currently planning on doing the "tape over the light" thing and hope the car doesn't blow up!!!

Let's make a deal Todd. You let me put power steering on the CRX and you can have ANY steering wheel you want. Different diameter, weight, type whatever...I do NOT care. I just want power steering!

Seriously the rest of us (At least Ryan, david, and I) in STT could care less. Changing that wheel will not give you an advantage in my eyes at all. However if you beat me, I may change my mind.

Is not even remotely possible for him to beat me bling-wise. Or you either for that matter! :P

I don't think there are any worries on any front (bling or time.)

I'll chime in too with an "I don't care." If my bomb snafus then I'll probably do the same.

Vincent, what's the matter? I've driven a CRX and their steering isn't exactly laborous. Besides, you have to appreciate the better feedback manual steering provides. I'm still planning on trying out manual steering on Blue. I just need some spare time to get that done.

Hey Ryan...remember my ST* mercedes? it's an '86 and has power windows, air bags, abs, power sunroof AND (non-functional) power seats. :) I wanted fuel injection, so I couldn't really go too much older
