Great Job everyone, I think that telling Mike Whitney that the work he has done of the last 2 months was a waste of club resources was a great idea, so since he wants nothing to do with club issues right now; which one of you is going to park the Bus and Trailer at your house?? I have know Mike for a while and while I have not always agreed with his decisions and even had a few personality conflicts with him in the past, However, he has pretty much always done what he though was best for the club and not best for him, Yet know he has current/past officers and other saying he was wasting his efforts... great job.
I know some of your do not want to here this from someone who has not been involved with club in the past three years but it needs to be said.
I know some of you though getting rid of the old Bus was a bad Idea and that there was nothing wrong with it, however that decision has been made get over it. I work in the Trucking industry once a vehicle gets over 5 years the maintenance cost double, over ten and they go up over 5 times as much, the bus needed to replaced before it became more of a money pit.
Having done setup in the old bus and the new bus, I can tell you the new bus is superior in many ways and none of them have to do with wireless and fm radio stuff.
Just having a trailer has been done in the past, and it does not work, for instance it rained at an even where everything was under an easy up, the easy up got full of water and dumped it on the brand new club laptop (luckily still covered under warranty still) for one example, and trying to get some one to toe the trailer to every event was a problem from time to time.
If you think there are sites out there that we should be running at then you should go scout them out and pass them on to Miles, telling mike that his energy should be spent on that when you could easily be spending your energy on it almost seems hypocritical.
I know I probably should drop this, however I see this as a huge injustice being done to Mike, he had to beg and plead to get people to help him get the bus into shape, if you did not agree on what was being done and had better ideas, then maybe you should have been over there. Maybe Mike is taking this a little too personally, however he spent a good amount of his own time on this, when I am sure he other things he would have like to have been doing, so maybe just maybe we need to apologize to Mike, because I do appreciate what he has done for club with the bus and over the past years, and am very surprised to see past and current officers riding him so hard.
WTF brought you to write this? Mike did a lot of work, but he did make the decision on the bus/trailer. Do I believe the new bus/trailer was the best idea? No. I'm not an officer, so I really don't care... but this post is ridiculous. If we can't find a place for the bus, we pay for one. I don't see how anyone 'stepping up' to take the bus at their home shows their dedication. - AB
