I am not picking on anyone Mike, you listening :) What if we took all the time and energy that went into the new bus and focused that towards securing or resecuring local sites? If the club can turn an airport jittney into a vehicle that rivals the SCCA wagon, imagine what might happen on securing sites.

What is more important to the continued growth and success...an automated speech program for announcing times or getting a site or two that is within 30 minutes of RDU?

Since you're calling me out I will answer your question again. Like I said last time you asked me this -

1. I do volunteer to do things that I don't hate, that I can fit into my schedule, and that I can do well = working on the bus on nights and weekends.

2. I will volunteer to fix things that are considered a safety item = wireless timer, replacement bus (ask me about some of the "confidential" discussions I had with some people about the risks with the old bus)

3. I will not volunteer to do things that I do not enjoy, feel too much like real work, and can impact my career = site search, emergency action planning, RBC center proposal, sponsorship stuff. It ain't my cup if tea. My hat is off to those who do and can enjoy it.

My priorities are NOT the same as the club's. All you people looking at some of our current projects as complex or resource wasters have a very, very short memory, or at least a selective one.

Enough is enough. I've gotten enough flak now over the last few days from the peanut gallery AND the officers that I'm just going to quit for a while on all the club stuff.

Someone needs to go find the bus a new home. It ain't coming back to my house next week.

Let's get back to using the resources of the club to secure sites closer to the RDU area.

maybe i'm out of the loop...are resources the reason we don't have sites closer to RDU? are there sites out there that we have looked at but decided they were to costly?

There are not presently any local sites we have said no to because they charge too much. There are however, sites which have said "no" to us.

Lets put a stop to bickering amongst everyone. We dont have sites local to RDU due to a lack of effort. I for one dont belive that blitzing a site owner is going to get us ANYWHERE. We have resources working towards that goal now. There are no less than 3 sites currently being discussed (dont ask). We damn sure dont have the sites due to lack of effort. Miles does a good job, so lets let HIM do HIS job.

I dont think that ANY project (Bus, Trailer, Wireless Timer) has taken away from the search for a GOOD RDU site.

This thread is LOCKED.
