Wow. And I need new tires too...

FYI, if you haven't jumped on this yet, the shipping adds ~$15/tire. Not the cheapest shipping rates, but a good package deal nonetheless.

Would those A3SO4's need to be heat cycled and/or shaved? If so, how much would that be and who can do that?

Another question about Hoosiers: Are they wider than the "advertised" size? The guy that I bought my car from had used a set of R3SO4's, and they were wider than most 205/50's. In fact, they rubbed a place in my rear trailing arms.

The should be heat cycled, but not shaved.

They do run rather wide, and ITR's are known for their inability to accomodate a large tire. I'd chekc with Shawn to find out what the "right" sizes are front and rear.

Like Dustin, I was suprised at the shipping rates (double Tire Rack's rates). Unfortunately, th Tire Rack told me that they would not be able to match the R&S prices.

They need heaqt cycled...you can do that yourself a number of ways. You must get more than 2 degress of negative camber up front. The 04's will cors the outer edge. After 25 runs, flip them on the rims. I was getting nearly 75 runs out the tire. But I do have -2.8 degree camber up front and did flip the fronts.

They were okay tires. A longer life than the S03's but were not as crisp. They felt more like the Victoracers.

Yes the Hoosiers run wide, due to the squared off tread surface. The SO4 don't reach max grip until they have ~ 10 runs on them, then they retain most of that grip right down to the cords. IMHO heat cycling AX tires is just wasting tire rubber, you don't run long enough or fast enough on hot tires to give any chunking or other problems. We haven't heat cycled tires in over 2 years, usually have the stickers still on them the first time we run them. You'd have to drive them ~ 100 miles or more at sustained speed and very curvy road to actually heat them enough to notice in this weather anyhow, and you risk ruining a new tire running over road debris.
YMMV!

Talk to Shawn, but from my memory, you can only get 225 Hoosiers on the front and 205's on the rear. The 225's rub in the rear. - AB
