Back to the main topic. Some of us made decisions about this season based on this gentlemen's agreement. If we're going to trash this agreement after the first autocross then what was the point. I was one of those tir guys who decided to move to ds since everyone was going to be on street tires. We're going to have a hard time recruiting drivers from TIR or keeping drivers in DS if we change things at this point in the game.

I don't have a dawg in this fight, so maybe I should shut up (okay, definitely I should, but it's too late now), but:

1. This is racing. 'Nuff said about that.
2. What would you do if some new guy showed up on Hoosiers?

Of course, if one of the folks who said "yes, I will run street tires this year in DS" now wants to run stickies, well, that person deserves some bashing. But if anyone else shows up at an event with stickies, well, tough luck. If they give you *warning* that they were going to do it, well, just be happy they did.

It won't kill your season points to switch to TIR. It won't kill you to race against stickies. There's only a *very* small group of drivers in the club that show up regularly and can't be beaten if they run stickies and someone else runs decent Azenis. Yes, you're giving up time, but not so much you can't get it back with good driving in *most* cases. So imagine how good you'll feel if you *do* do it.

And at the end of the day, you will still know if you beat the other TIR people or not, even if you don't get a trophy because of someone driving on stickies.

I did a search and found this discussion:

http://www.thsccforums.com/viewtopic.ph ... ghlight=ds

It appears we never came to a final decision. However, since I am bringing this up after the season has begun, I will run X if I get race tires, unless other people in DS decide (soon) that the agreement is not in effect.

Give it a rest Jim, I ran DS all last year. So I was a bit green in my first year. Are you so perfect? Lighten up.

I originally posted a much more negative message. It really doesn't matter to me what people want to do. I got in this for the fun of it. Sometimes it just doesn't seem like that much fun. I'll be in DS for who knows how many events, See you all there.

For the record, I did not agree to run street tires this season.

If you read through the topic that I posted from this past November (regarding the agreement for '05), you will see that it was never determined that we were going to have one.

Funny, I noticed that too.

I got my Millenia wheels yesterday, so I'll be waiting to see what shoes to put on 'em.

I am one of the three drivers who ran tir clas instead of DS because I was unaware of the gentleman's agreement. If you decide to keep it I will run in DS for the next event.

Well, I think if it brings more people into the class then we should continue with the agreement. Hope to see you at the next event Keith.
