Just did it for both the Laurinburg event and the Greenville one. Easy and painless and five bucks cheaper each!

When is the final Paypal cutoff for the week of the events?

AFAIK, Thursday evening, same as pre-registration

Paypal cutoff is the same as registration cutoff, which is typically midnight Thursday/Friday before the event. But, for this weekend's events the cutoff is in about 20 minutes (~5:00pm Wed), because Cathie needs to head out of town early for the weekend.

No, because the information is tracked based on the script that Carl has written, and that file is pulled when Registration is closed. Otherwise someone could pay the morning of the event and we would have no record of it.

Well, not exactly. The download of the entries (which also locks the registration) doesn't know anything about who paid, how, or when. So theoretically you could just send in a Paypal payment with a recognizable description and be OK.

But the point here is that at some point (usually the time of closing registration) the registrar goes onto the Paypal site, notes who's paid, and marks those names off on the entry list. If Cathie has already done that for this event (and I'd assume she has), then your payment won't be seen and you won't get credit.

Yes, the paypal list has already been pulled. Paypal payments made after the list is pulled will not be accepted at the event. The reason is that we would have no way of verifying if you have paid or not.

The paypal cut off is always the same as the registration cut off.

Carl, hope I didn't come across like I was blaming your script.

What I was trying to say is that the Registrars pull the paypal information and filter it based on the subject line that is automatically filled in when someone paypals from that preregistration script. Without that standard subject line in place, the task of determining what each payment is for would be considerably more difficult.

The Paypal receipt wouldn't cut it?

It's not the five bucks I'm sweating it's the line. In the morning. When I could be stumbling through a course walk trying not to spill that awful Hampton Inn coffee. On myself. Or those around me.

Again, no biggy, but I was slow on the draw this week since I had some car issues.

A receipt isn't going to keep you from having to stand in line. You would still have to stand in the registration line and hand the receipt to me.

You do know registration opened like a month ago right David? You procrastinator you! Sounds like a season pass is your best option. :)
