We _so_ need to organize an at-event "Daycare". As a formal work assignment. Four workers could handle it, 2 per shift, work twice (hey, it's a cush job :) ).

Complaints about "stealing more workers" aside, this would be the #1 thing to make the events more family, kid, and spouse friendly - a safe place to stick the kid while getting your runs in.

As Nathan gets older, the only thing that would prevent me from bringing him to the events by myself is knowing that I have someone to watch him while I run and work.

Damn, I've really been exercising my thread hijacking lately :)

Since my wife works weekends, this is about the only way I could go to an autocross short of hiring an all-day baby sitter. I would gladly supply an E-Z up and anything else were this to become an organized thing.

Anyone out there with enterprising older children who babysit could turn this idea into a money-maker as well, you know... Maybe Chef Christine and family could branch out beyond the food business?

I'd easily pay someone I trust $20 to watch my boy for a few hours at the event :)

I'd rather watch kids than cook any day!!!

You can go get your own food and I'll baby sit.

No shopping before hand, shoving coolers and the grill in my car and not wondering if people will buy my food!!!

Ok Whitney, Go Away! Find another babysitter. Just because you stopped practicing and did it for real one time doesn't mean we should all suffer and loose our Happy Meals.

And remember if we loose Christine then Rob was willing to do burgers in his "special chef outfit"

We're trying to grow the club, not kill it...

Agreed. I would much rather have Christine's awesome food instead of a babysitter for a nonexistant child.

Yeah, I put away my Chef's outfit for this event seeing as it was going to be awful cold and the outfit is kinda drafty

I don't understand why y'all don't just chain the kids to the trailer along with the dogs; then they can entertain each other. Makes perfect sense to me!

Hmmm, Mike will pay $20 to a babysitter at the event, I'll rent him a D-ring on the trailer for $10, and he saves $10. Instant baby sitter!

Oh sure, next you're going to be telling us we shouldn't punch our children, either! ;)

In all, err, seriousness, I thought this problem is what mommies are for?

No need to look far for the daycare place at the autocross, just look at my trailer. If it can be arranged that it 's considered a worker duty, taking care of the Futures VP and Officers of the club it will be great. The parents can just share the supervision of the kids between them, we just need to manage to not be all in the same run group.
