Wow... what a fun day. Kudos to all those involved in the planning, set-up and running of the event, it was everything I had hoped for in a test in tune! The cold weather was even kinda nice in that it spared a lot of peoples tires from the sudden death tires often face in the heat at Laurenburg.

I realized my car can be pretty fast and that the driver needs more work than the car at this point

Hey folks, just want to point something out in this thread...hopefully everyone from the TNT will be reading.

When I was working station 5 in the AutoX course in the morning, I had two vehicles drive through my red flag. The flag was fully extended and I was within *reasonable* line of sight. PLEASE pay attention to your peripheral vision!

Also thanks to Jason and Vincent for bumming me rides while my car was out of commission.

With all the work Stephen did he didn't "bum" anything. Thanks again for coming to help Saturday and doing solo worker coordination on Sunday.

Thankfully our club has multiples of people like Stephen who will jump right in and lend a hand when and where ever it's needed. Brad Mackey is case in point. Brad swapped tires with Ryan and I so we wouldn't have to drive home on bald Azenis in the rain. Not to complain Brad, but next time could you lend me some round tires? Four flat-spotted MX's really suck at 70 MPH on I-95. I don't know how Fred Flinstone ever drove on square tires!

BTW Stephen, you are more than welcome to drive my car anytime.

I almost caught ya in the slalom section Dan. If we could have swapped wheels/tires maybe I would have. Of course I do have a working Torsen LSD, which was my friend at the pivot cone. 8)

Seat time, seat time, seat time.

I enjoyed the skidpad, and almost vomited when I got done abusing poor Azenis. I don't understand why more people didn't use this tool as a butt-dyno for lateral G's. I found out that I need to bump up pressures in the front due to my palm-pyrometer and ear-G-meter. Maybe I should have bought a real pyrometer ...

Mine sat in the car unused for the entire event.

I had a great time, but didn't get any photos of anything the whole weekend (which was kinda nice for a change  ).

Did a lot of high-speed drifting "fun runs" on the full course & in the P. Enjoyed watching Jason Mauldin & Brian Herring doing the same. Had a few runs where I had to rallycross during. :D

The wagon was awesome in the slalom, and the acceleration at each end was enough to get Dan by almost a second (unless he got faster when I wasn't watching). Did anybody beat a 26.4 without DNFing or hitting a cone, and if so what were you driving?

I love the WRX wagon, and don't miss the 2.5RS AT ALL - EVER.

Thanks again to Rodney Wright & Colony Tire in Apex for my free RA-1's - it was nice not worrying about tire wear at Laurinburg. :D These things are ready to be flipped...

Bear with us on results, we used a new T&S system and it may take a little bit to get that data on the net.

Hey Ryan - I noticed that the results files that were printed during the event were HTM files. That's pretty cool! They could probably be posted right up if we don't want to get "fancy" with them. They could even be attached to a post here (if that's OK with the forum gurus). Just throwing ideas out, no hurry as I don't think anyone even expected complete results :)

I got a 28.0XX in a 110HP Miata with bald tires...after three passes. I take that and be happy too!

I got a 27.3 on street tires. The other DSP guys were putting down some quick numbers, I just can't remember what they were.

Sounds like a good time. The Miata managed to puke up it's radiator on Thursday. I didn't mind the idea of scooting around town, but rolling to L'burg. . . way to much tempting of fate.

Looks like I'll be doing my Testing and Tuning at the first event.

Maybe an ITR in DS.

A Torsen would have been nice but what would have helped me the most in the slalom element would have been ABS... I blew the turn around almost every run :( Maybe with some practice I can learn how to use the breaks a little better :D

I had a 26.398. Most of my runs were 27.2 to 27.5, but I finally nailed one.
