The following info is courtesy of Mr. Art McDonald. You may want to book your rooms now. :phone:

FYI, the US Open Golf Tournament will be held at Pinehurst June 13-19. Kind of a big deal. http://www.pinehurst.com/us_open.asp

I know that there won't be any available hotel rooms the weekend of
June 18-19. Not sure how it will be for our weekend. There will
be a lot of press, sponsors, and vendors coming in ahead of the
tournament. (Not to mention state troopers.)

The Hampton Inn in Laurinburg shows vacancies and normal pricing
right now, but I don't know how many, or if they'll wise up and boost rates as the tournament nears.

Would now be a good idea to reconsider that date? The US Open is kind of a big deal, especially since the now deceased Paine Stewart was the last winner when it was held in Pinehurst, and I feel sure that ABCNBCCBS will be making a bigger deal than normal about that.

See this thread:

I called the other night and was able to get a room. The guy said there was still plenty of rooms available, so go ahead and call now if you're planning on staying overnight.

What code did you use and which box under the special accounts did you enter it in to get the THSCC corporate rate?

The Tarhell event is scheduled on 6/11 and 6/12. Not on the 18/19th as suggested above by VP Vincent. So I did just get a room.

Neither I used my AAA discount which is cheaper than the businees rate.... and then I decided to use my Hampton Points to get the room free :)

As I understand it our corporate rate discount code is only good if you call the hotel directly. I don't think it will work on the web reservation system since it is only good for that location.

Our discount code is easy to remember, THSCC.

Also note that they block off 20-25 rooms they will allow THSCC. Once those are gone I'm not sure they will honor the corporate rate or not.

Given how busy that area will be I suggest you take whatever rate they offer or look over the other 2 hotels next door. I don't think the Jameson/Jamestown whatever the heck it is next door is a national chain or well known. It always seems to be pretty empty when we go down there.
