It was freaking awesome! Great course (challenging but fast, fun & easy to follow), good weather and friendly people. Oh, and 6 runs for $30. I highly recommend running with these guys. The atmosphere was really relaxed, seemed like a complete opposite of SCCA events I've run in. You tech your own car, they had 3 run groups & you work right after you drive (~10min changeover time), and anybody can ride with anybody.

Mitch Moore & Jim Pastorius showed up with new cars, and so did I. The WRX wagon kicks ass. Stock suspension other than a WRX sedan rear sway bar (20mm vs. 16mm stock), front & rear sway bar endlinks, front crash bolts for more camber, and front control arm bushings. It understeered nowhere, and was easily rotated (completely under control). The course was pretty big & open, but the finish was a little tight, which meant downshifting to 1st & "launching" it toward the timer (15ft wide 90° lefthand "L" with about 25ft of accleration afterward to the finish). I ended up within a couple of seconds of Courtney Cormier & Mike Johnson, who were driving Rod McGeorge's ESP STi on Kumho MXes. :D They were really entertaining to watch, as there was a 2nd gear right hand sweeper soon after the start where the back end would kick out and the car would drift the whole thing, then a left hand turnaround where they'd drift as well. I rode with Chris Perera in another guy's STi on his last run, and it was pretty entertaining from inside, too. Chris was only a half second or so from Courtney & Mike's times - but he was driving a bone-stock 04.

It was great time, and if you missed it, kick yourself very hard.

Well, back to work now...

Sounds like a good time! Evidently your car isn't ever going to see D-Stock. Couldn't help yourself, eh?

One less elitist to worry about in DS...sounds like there will be a few next season if PRO goes away...

Stock cars are for lewwwzers. :P

I guess I just have too many leftover parts from the traded-in 2.5RS & too much of a need to "improve" stuff. :D

Although after driving the car yesterday, I'm betting those few little changes didn't make a huge difference, and it might actually be very fun in DS. But I've been given approval to put a set of Prodrive springs on it, so I really doubt it's going to be DS-legal anytime soon.
