To all the new, first-time, or inexperienced event chairs:

The staff is talking about updating our event chair guide and possibly holding a seminar or training for ECs. So don't worry too much about volunteering just because you don't know how to run an event!

We'll still pair inexperienced peopler with experienced ones... For all you experienced people who are volunteering, please choose some of the volunteers who are posting here!

What are the novice qualifications for the autocross school? I have only participated in 6 or 7 events including the school last October. I would like to participate in the March school if I still qualify as a novice.

Danny, it's up to the event chairs to decide and post the qualifications for the novice school. Typically in the past, the requirements have varied from a maximum of two years experience down to no more than five events. Sometimes the requirements start off a little tight to make sure that we cover the true novices and those who've never done this before, and then a few weeks out, it might get opened up to those with slightly more experience. The event chairs for that event will probably discuss the requirements with the autox VPs and post something well in advance.

Guys, for those of you interested in, or who have already signed up to chair schools this year, I've done a bunch of schools in times past and have learned a ton about what not to do and what works, and what doesn't work. If any of the school event chairs want somebody to bounce ideas off of, I'm happy to help, or bore you with semi-useful advice. Just PM me if you want.
I feel some degree of responsibility to pass on the lessons learned so you don't make all of the same mistakes I did. We want you to make new ones if you are going to make any. :)

Please note that the Test & Tune has been changed to SUNDAY, Feb 26. Also, we still need a few Event Chairs to fill the remaining spots.

Ok folks. For all of you who have never chaired an event.

Miles and I need 2 Co-Event Chairs. This is for the Test & Tune event in February. It is low key/stress but you'll still go through all the paces you would to put on a Points Event. This is the perfect time to do it.

Please PM me on the forum or email me if you are interested.

Thanks

D'oh. My brother decided to up and get marred (intentional loss of the letter "i") on that weekend in July.

Perhaps some chick would be interested in cochairing ... (a chick other than Chris Brown that is  )
