Correct... I was talking about South Course. I drove like arse on South, and Tom would have beaten me by .55 seconds. The grip was far better on Thursday/Friday, which I hope factored in to some of the RTP indices, but I doubt the single event made that much of a difference.

For all I care about PAX, they can make STS = AM PAX. Pro probably won't be around, so it won't matter to us locally. - AB

OK that makes sense. As far as the whole Tues/Weds vs Thurs/Fri thing. STX was the first group to run on the South course Tuesday morning so we had a completely green track. STS ran Thurs/Fri so they had 2 days worth of R compound rubber laid down. That probably helped their times a little.

What was the weather like at the DC Pro when a STS-prepped Civic beat the Hoppe WRX in STX on the same day same course?
It was nice and sunny. :x Let's see what excuses do I have. The car wasn't set up properly of the off camber stuff. The course did favour a light car over a heavy car. Oh, and Tom and I drove like crap.

Like they say "that's why they play the game". Just because you've got a good driver in a good car doesn't always mean they automatically win.

There seems to be some common misconception that the PAX values are based on the times people run at nationals. That is only marginally true. Nationals is a single event out of a great many that are used for calculating the index.

The folks that do the calculations have been around the block enough times that they account for things like weather and surface changes.

In the stock classes, D-Stock got the hardest hit, having to run faster relative to everyone else.

You forgot E-Stock. It increased by the same margin as D-Stock. Yes, DS went up based upon percentage if you want to get picky. If you look, the gap between CS and ES is almost nil.

It's about time!

(Hmmph, read that whichever way makes you happier.) :-)

C-Stock, on the other hand, got easier, and it's also one of the most stable classes.

Well, it was only by a thousandth. Hard to say without seeing their math if last year was borderline already or not. I'd say that relative to the year before the class *was* a hair easier, though. Part of it was a few drivers left and part was the new Spyder probably hurt overall Spyder results. The scary thing is to look at PAX numbers from the year before that...CS was *really* hard then. That was before I started, though. :-)

Thank god we are back to talking about stuff like PAX, street tires, etc. I was about to jump off the parking deck if I had to read another post about why we should/shouldn't buy a new bus!! ;)

Does the potential new bus and trailer have a better PAX than the old one, and if not, maybe we should vote on whether to keep the old one and modify it or get the new one. :deadhorse:

Yeah, but stock means that you actually have to use the parts that bust all of the time.

Well, even though it is not a National Class, STU's PAX has been dropped so it is finally worth the time of the STU driver to drive STu instead of bumping up to the SP class.

I think some local ESP guys might love this :) We will have to see where the 'no talent' STi drivers go.
