I've bitten the bullet and signed up for my first autocross on the 7th. Trying to get all my ducks in a row before I show up, I didn't know what class to sign up for. Should I assume its just "novice" class?

Car is a 76 911 with a 3.0 6 cyl from a 79sc, 85 carrera brakes, bilstein and koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars, stock sway bars, yok es100 tires.

Thanks!

My guess, from looking at your modifications, is that you would be in ASP - NOV.

I think Patrice Bousquet would be able to have a more definitive answer on the modifications you listed. Regardless, you will have a lot of fun autocrossing I bet :) - AB

You can if the cars that the parts come from are listed on the same line.

Hey John,

There's some good stuff on our website to help you ahead of time. Go to www.thscc.com and click on "Autocross" then "You Ought to Know About..."

Be sure to read the Novice Tips page:

http://www.thscc.com/autocross/info/novicetips.html

That will help you for your first event.

According to what you say about the car, ASP seem to be correct.

Same line on the listing of cars for each class in the rule book. For example;

ASP 75-85 911, 86-92 911
93-99 911

With that listing you could swap parts from any 86-92 onto your 75-85, but nothing from the 93-99. Even though they are all ASP cars.

Cars in the *SP listing are listed in lines. When cars are listed on the same "line" of the list, you can update/backdate between them (follow specific update/backdate rules).

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Thank you for using the forums for this instead of waiting until you are standing in the registration line at the autocross. It makes the registrars jobs a lot easier. :D
