I'm all for having this decided up front as well. If the webmasters can structure something so the NOV entrant has to include his mod info when pre-registering that would help. That info could be in turn e-mailed to us AX Novice Coordinators and we'd send them a response.

That will only work with people who pre-register of course so send 'em to the Novice table if they are registering at the event.

In today's age this still baffles me. The only thing easier than using PayPal (IMO) would be a season pass paid for in advance. This idea of mine fell on deaf ears and didn't get too much consideration....again IMO.

Once Carl and his team get's the new database sorted out, I don't see any reason the pre-paid season pass would not be a good idea. You pay up front for the year and the registrar has the info when you show up. Just like using PP you show up, say "I'm here" to the registrar and you're done.

I understand that some can't afford to use this option, but if you could why not? I'd love to go ahead and pay my $160 and be done with it for the season. One less thing to worry about at the event IMO.

So what if you pay and can't make it to an event? Sorry, you'd be S.O.L. there. The money would be non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Am I the only one that thinks this would be a good option for those who'd like to use it?

Implementation has always been the issue when discussing the "pre-paid" suggestion.

When it was discussed "pre-computer", it was talked about as a punch card. Then came the inevitable discussion of "What if I lose it?" and we didn't want to hassle with people asking us to look it all up in a non-computer world.

It's come up again in the computer world, but again, management/tracking were the biggest issues. If there can be a central database, I think it would be far more possible. See what Mr. Fisher comes up with. I'm certain if there's a way, he can get it implemented.

As to PayPal. I'm personally not interested in an account. Not sure there's a valid reason "why not", I'm just not. Perhaps there are many others like me out there. :)

Ooh. Don't hold your breath for that one, Vincent...

It would certainly seem reasonable and doable to me. But realistically, we're likely talking about 2006 for having the member DB completed and integrated enough to be tackling items like this, that I would consider low-priority in the overall scheme of things.

I think that is a great idea to pay for the entire season up front. If I had that option, I would use it. I would much rather pay the fees once and not worry about it with every single event.

I understand Carl. If you could integrate that feature it would be nice. I'd just think that the option deserves serious consideration.

In the meantime folks should take advantage of PayPal. I buy lots of stuff on Ebay and use it frequently. It's simple and as safe as any transaction done via the Internet. Did I mention it's free to the sender of the money?

Heck if you're scared of PayPal then mail Tonya a check! Anything done beforehand will make her job easier. And if you don't want to make her job easier then volunteer for registrar yourself.

Jason does a great job of classing people at events. He has been doing this for some time now. It just takes too long to class people on the bus. We need to get people in and out of the bus quickly.

Maybe our setup should be like the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld.

If they ask too many questions...
"NO AX FOR YOU! Come back next year"

If you are not hung up with internet security and using PayPal, it rules! No standing in line. No worries about having the right amount of cash. Very painless. And even better, it helps out the Registrar. All you regulars out there need to take a serious look at PayPal.
