I understand where you are coming from. I didn't try to elaborate on why I felt this should be done offline. I was hoping this would just quietly drop off so we didn't have to do this in public.

So, the reason that I felt it wasn’t best to have this discussion in front of everyone is that I don't think that anyone (that I know of) has talked to Matt in private and asked the same exact questions you are putting to him. If his car is legal, then we don't have an issue. If it isn't legal then he can decide what to do (make car legal or change class).

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

No; rumor has it that you've used update/backdate to get bigger calipers from a newer model vehicle, that allowance has since been taken out of the STS rulebook.

Wow Wes you grilled Mike Whin about doing this and now your doing the same?....

Nope. Matt's a helluva driver that will do well at the NCAC. I don't want him risking losing a trophy for him (and the club) because he (probably) looked at the out-of-date Mouton's website that allows update/backdate.

Look at the tone of my posts, I'm obviously not saying dirty cheater booga booga.

True it just sounded like it was the say one thing do another going on... of course maybe I am watching too many presidentail debates :), I would definatly agree with the above statement though. :)

NCAC question: Will it be OK for me to attend this event even though I will not be very competitive since I am new? It sounds like it would be a very good autoX experience.

I have always encouraged people to attend these events. It gives you good competition to measure yourself against. Plus it opens the door a little on what it takes to compete at a higher level in this silly sport.

Here is the latest from the 2004 NCAC Chairman, Steven Rankins of CCR-SCCA:

"NCAC will go on (no thanks to Carowinds). The site is Greenville Braves [Stadium], the date is Nov 20th & 21st. Hopefully we will have an event flyer ready by the end of the week. The flyer will be distributed to all of you, as well as published on the CCR website. ..... Dean and I will be ironing out some of the operational details, then passing them by the club reps. .....

Steven Rankins"

Pre-registration is not yet available, but should be soon at http://www.ccrsolo2.org/

Yes and no. Yes if you want to have time listed in the results, but no if you want to run Saturday only. I bet Sunday only is a 'no dice'. - AB
