you also forgot that the latest BTTF car had Mr. Fusion so he could just dump his garbage in there and have it work. That is even more worth a protest since he doesnt have to go through the trouble of getting plutonium from the terrorist group with the rocket launcher..

Actually, you can just walk into NC State's nuclear reactor and steal the fuel. It's weapon's grade too since it's a research reactor and not actually used to power anything. :)

Nope. The garbage option was just to get it to fly. Otherwise they wouldn't have needed the train in BTTF 3 to get them up to 88 mph (since there was obviously trash in the 19th century)

Damn, I am a child of the eighties.

Hmmm... I had refreshed my memory here before posting that - are you sure you're right, geek-boy?

I think Kevin is right Wes, Mr. Fusion runs the flux capacitor and time circuits. The train was still needed in BTTF 3 to get the car up to the required 88 mph since there was no gasoline in 1865. Actually, now that I think about it, wasn't the car that was in 1865 somehow the car from 1955 before the Mr. Fusion and hover capabitities added to it? I'll have to check my DVDs tonight...

yep, les is right...the train was needed to move the car, not power the flux...the part about the car in BTTF 3 being the same car from 1955 is close to being correct.

<flex>
BTTF 1 - car goes from 1985 to 1955 and then at the end of the movie, doc and einstein go into the "future" to have some fun...but then at the end of the movie, doc comes back from "the future" with the notorius mr. fusion attached to the car.

BTTF 2 - car goes to 2015 back to 1985 and then to 1955

BTTF 3 - car goes from 1955 to 1855...so in 1885 he has the mr. fusion from BTTF 1 and the hover board from BTTF 2
</flex>

man that was fun...can we do indiana joes or star wars trivia next

The Mr. Fusion provided power for the Flux Capacitor. The reason they need the train was that there was a hole in the gas tank when Marty arrived in the 19th century and the fuel injection system blew up trying to use the 19th century rot gut whiskey. Hence no gas motor to propel the car. Once again the Volvo Renault Opel 2.8 V6 let someone down. :P

I think this would be a great format of a 1 event , 1 day or 2 day NCAC event.

Only people who are eligiable are the people who finished in the top 2 of thier championship with thier local club, if the local championship is not finished then the top 2 points leaders.

You run 2 course's, either have 2 setup for 1 day and run one in the morning and one in the afternoon, or on a 2 day event setup a differnt course on the second day. Take the best time form each course, hopefully by limiting the to the top 2 from each club you would have enought to give everyone at least 3 runs on each course. This would give kinda nationals feel to the NCAC championship and if promoted right might make people more interested in it.

Just a Thought.

No; rumor has it that you've used update/backdate to get bigger calipers from a newer model vehicle, that allowance has since been taken out of the STS rulebook.

And how high would that cause the entry fee to be? :wink:

I don't think that's a good idea, you need all the people you can get in order to keep the entry fees down. :D

Other than that, I've had conversations with people in our club & other clubs that went something like the rest of your proposal, and we all think it's a good idea. Maybe set up a course that could be run backward on the second day, and add the best times together. We were actually thinking about doing that for the 2-day Laurinburg autox that Christine & I chaired, but after talking about it with officers for a while, we realized too many people would probably bitch about it to make it worth doing. :lol:

Maybe next year...

Actually I left part of it out but, why would entries fees be higher? I am sure you could at least get a 100 people, I think keeping the number down would be go if you wanted to run 2 course and give everyone three runs, it there is not 100 people then open in up so anyone can run, which is the part I left out.

Just my personal opinion here, but I think this specific discussion is probably best done offline between the current STS competitors. If it even needs to be discussed at all.

I disagree

This is a private board for members only. Questions such as these should be known and seen by all, I think. As mentioned earlier such a post made it clear to several people in HS that their cars were not technically legal. Now that doesn't mean they can't run or that their class competitors care. But it might.

Now as for this STS question, it is pretty simply solved. Matt does your car have the stock, for its year, brake set up on it? If so then let whoever know and its the end of it. There is nothing personal or mean about it. It is a question raised by someone that a simple yes or no will put to rest.
