Is this event for more advanced drivers or open to anyone? I was thinking of making it a stop on my way home for Thanksgiving.

Definately for anybody. Although the whole point of NCAC is to see who is best in the state so in theory you will have more competition than normal at a local event.

Just wondering if they'll have a PRO class? I know we had one at our NCAC event last year, but I'm just curious if a 2-day, one-event "championship" would have one, and whether people would feel funny signing up for it...

(I'll be in STS/ Open, regardless)

I'm closer than anyone. Hell, I can probably commute...

I remember the Greenville stadium lot being a fine lot. I remember the course blowing chunks (Highlands course), and haven't returned since.

I find it humorous that the NC autocross championship will be held in SC.

I'll be there regardless.

Matt

Matt,

A gentle reminder is that if you decide to run in STS, you may get protested for having illegal brakes; you should run in STX where brakes are unlimited.

So should I uninstall my flux capacitor? I didn't see it mentioned in the rule book anywhere... :?

I wouldn't see anyone protesting that...it's just dead weight right? I mean what are the chances of a bolt of lightening striking your car during your run to supply the necessary 1.21 jigawatts?

Edit: Oh wait...I forgot about the plutonium option....forget it, I would protest you and I don't even run in STS.

Or is the course design going to allow you to reach the required 88 mph?

you also forgot that the latest BTTF car had Mr. Fusion so he could just dump his garbage in there and have it work. That is even more worth a protest since he doesnt have to go through the trouble of getting plutonium from the terrorist group with the rocket launcher..

Mine has the garbage option - I figured with all the VW's you see at local events, I'd never be with without a fuel source.

I think we should make him take it off though for Rockingham....he wouldn't even have to put the garbage in the Mr. Fusion if it smells like it did last time.

How can something be illegal if it hasn't even been invented yet? One could make the argument that it does not actually exist...

HSCC had a rich history of designing itty bitty painful courses in one small corner of the nice big open lot. Thankfully enough people (in both HSCC and CCR) have been to national events since then. I'd be willing to bet that the NCAC course will be fast, fun, and flow well.

Of course I might design it too... Then it would have turns with the apex on top of a rise.

Got Flux?

Edit: The surface at GVL is VERY abrasive. Be sure your tires aren't close to cording!

Nope. The garbage option was just to get it to fly. Otherwise they wouldn't have needed the train in BTTF 3 to get them up to 88 mph (since there was obviously trash in the 19th century)

Damn, I am a child of the eighties.

<--- Tries to calm stomach as he remembers the smell and large stack of chicken bones left on the course before starting
