We have secured the Hampton Inn (same one we used for the 40th anniversary event). We have a corporate rate available at $62/day for a double and $65/day for a king. A block of rooms has been locked for Friday and Saturday night. The room type is first come first serve. There are currently about 40-45 rooms available at the hotel. So don’t delay making your reservations. You are allowed to have more than 2 people per room at no extra charge.

Our corporate code is THSCC. If you tell the folks at the desk you’re with the “Sports Car Club” they will know who you are. Our confirmation number is 88271091. This is for everyone.

Call the hotel directly to make your reservations. 910-277-1516.

PS: As a bonus I’ve got them to agree to lock in this corporate rate from now through the whole 2005 season :D Also, should you be traveling in that area, you are welcome to use the club corporate discount for your stay at any time. It doesn’t have to be an event weekend.

Your event chairs:

Graham Jagger and Miles Beam

For those that tow with big trailers, if you are the 4th person to arrive at the hotel while towing, you won't have any good place to park.

Would there be a way to have the gate at the airport open Friday night so that trailers may be dropped off there?

We can park anywhere in the big back lawn. If the "entrance" in the parking lot is blocked, you can drive in via the street behind - flat, no curbs.

Thanks for posting that Mike. Sorry Scott. Not being a big trailer hauling guy I forgot to mention that. We have permission from the manager to park anywhere out back on those lawns/fields. It is all hotel property.

So if you're truck number 5 there is still room for you

It might just mean that out of bounds has a more final and bruse inducing feeling. 'I got it"," I got it", smack.

Thanks for the update Brian. I spoke with them this past weekend while Rob and I were down there for cleanup. It will be a very busy weekend for them.

For those of you who haven't got a room yet. The hotel next door, Jameson Inn, still has rooms for about the same rate that we have with Hampton Inn. I don't know how good this hotel is but it is apparently not that widely know like some of the big national chains.

So if anyone still needs a room get on the ball and reserve one soon.

Graham

Ah.. this is where Stacy helped me (she works for a Visitor's Center which gets its money FROM tourism -- i.e. Hotels).

You can STILL get a room from the Hotel (Hampton Inn), however, you cannot get it directly from Hampton Inn anymore. Hotels.com and other hotel on-line companies buy blocks of rooms, and THAT is the ONLY way you can get access to those rooms.

Since I was late, we went through hotels.com where they still have plenty of rooms for the 10th and 11th. If you have any other 'hotel.com' place you use, it will have rooms as well.

Just be aware as you CAN get a room at the 'event hotel', but it will cost a little more than the discoutn price.. but not much.

Good luck all.

The Jameson Inn is where we always stay in Laurinburg. We've been staying there for the last four years. It's nice, clean and reasonably priced. BTW, I always use Expedia.com for my bookings. I made this reservation months ago.

Just booked a room for Sat eve @ Hampton. THSCC rate. They said they still had a few rooms left but no King non-smoking.

Wow... this would fly in the face of what I asked.. they just IMMEDIATELY blew me off telling me that they did NOT have any rooms available.

I will call them back now.

That's the kind of crap I hate. That happens a lot! It's much easier for the desk clerk to say "Sorry, we are full" instead of asking for you name, CC number, address, phone #, etc.

Hence I do all my arrangements on-line. If I can't get a reservation through Expedia then I don't get one.
