Another part of the logic was based on the amount of notice we are able to give for the events. At times, it's rather short, and not all of us have the luxury of being able to leave work when we want, so many people miss out based on work commitments.

PS: I have one of those luxorius jobs that I can just walk away from any day of the week at 5 pm.

Well, it should make the Open Class points race more interesting. When you count only 4 of the 8 events we've had, my lead drops to 24 points - and it's Tom Hoppe in 2nd now, instead of Jim Pastorius (sorry, Jim). I'm going to have to drive like a crazy person to stay ahead without my nice, big cushion. But that will help me to perform under pressure, which is a good thing!

"and lets not kid ourselves...we are all competitive people...if we weren't, we wouldn't even look at the scores. personally, i care just as much about the night series as the regular events (maybe even more so)" - Chris B.

Amen, brotha. I've never been as competetive at anything in my whole life as I am at driving contests (including rallyx now!) When I used to play tennis, I'd be fine to just go hit the balls back and forth all afternoon, but when I get in the car, I want to win! And I do get disappointed, even when I'm losing to one of the top STX drivers in country.

I guess this where some us differ. I do not view the night series as a highly competitive event. I attend to have fun. These are the only events where I do not have a lot of responsibility. Any responsibility that I do have is what volunteer to accept. Unlike the regular events when we are trying to run 170 drivers through.

The night series allows me drive, socialize, instruct and relax. I use the night events as practice. Before the first run I set goals and afterwards see how close I came. I can usually estimate to within .5 how fast I can be on the course. Then I want to make sure all my runs are within .5 - 1 second, first to last.

Plus the scoring is based upon the PAX so it is totally irrelevant.

I do not care if we count all 8 events and I finish 30th. You have to remember how lucky as a club that we have this series. When I tell other people, from New York to California, about this series, they are all envious as all get out.

OK, let's do this the time-honored THSCC way - there is now a a poll to find out what everyone wants.

http://www.4g61t.com/thsccforum/viewtopic.php?t=216

When the results are in and we find out what everyone wants, we will just do it however we damn well please anyways. Oops, did I say that out loud ?!?!

;) ;) ;)
