In stock class, would replacing the original seats with seats from another trim level of the same model via "comfort & convenience" (the seats are more comfortable, but are a total of 25 lbs heavier than the originals) be legal? I couldn't find my rule book last night & don't know the exact wording of the stock rules.

Nope, not legal without converting to that higher option package. Sucks, but that's the way it is. That said, I don't think it would result in many protests.

I should add...

It's not legal because if it was, the "higher" option package cars could convert to the more "comfortable" lighter seats.

Here is the C&C rule, make your own conclusions :)

Quote:
Accessories, gauges, indicators, lights and other appearance,
comfort and convenience modifications which have no effect on
performance and/or handling and do not materially reduce the
weight of the car are permitted. This does not allow driver’s seat
substitutions

All mounts and bushings except front swaybar must be stock OEM.
