There are still some open slots for VMSC's August 1st event at VMP.

This was my first chance to run a VMSC event. It was fun. Different doing all your runs in one heat. But that's ok. The course is sure fresh in your mind. It was worth the drive up there. We didn't get rain all day until we were on our way home.

They made full use of the site. The course looked like it might be confusing (and it was for some) but at speed it flowed well enough. Had some nice fast sections, a couple of painful turns, and a finish that made you go slow and smooth or blow your run.

Jim P and I were the only folks from Tarheels. The links to the results are below. They messed up a couple of classes. The guy with the Morgan somehow got put in AS in the results but he's really in FP or something. One of the guys in a mini got put in ES but didn't belong there. So our classes are wrong. Jim got 1st in ES and I got 2nd in AS.

Actually Graham, consider that a win. The 1st place car is about is illegal as they come. Gil believes that interchanging parts on different years of Corvette's is within the 'spirit of the rules'. Doug Rippey motorsports should have it's logos all over it, for a lot of the parts are from there ;) - AB

I forgot how much I love that site. The course was about 9/10ths of a mile long. I was in 3rd gear twice and on the limiter one other time. It was a fun course.

It was great to hang with Graham and my brother and to see them both drive very well.

Aaron,
Thanks! I'm happy with my 2nd place finish. I wanted to break 65 sec and did. I hate even looking at the DRM website. I could spend $5K in 5 minutes  Wouldn't go over well with my CFO...

Wes,
I've met John before. I think it goes well with the Morgan and the classic truck he uses for a tow vehicle.

Thanks for the course walking instructions once again Jim. Well, except for that "only 8ft off the turn around cone" remark  It was nice meeting your brother and hanging out with you guys.

Graham
