I was just curious on how 'competitive' the different classes were. I decided to take the Top 3 people from each class, and average their PAX placing together to see what the 'class average' was for the top guys (minimum of two entrants). I went ahead and sorted the list as I wanted to see the most competitive classes.

I guess this shows a combination of things:

- Which classs are best prepared.
- Which classes have good pax.
- Which classes have good drivers.

I think the results are just interesting, and something that is a hoot to look at.

I am not trying to make enemies, and this is just for one event. I always think stats are just fun to oogle at :)

Enjoy!

I think another interesting way to see some similar information is this.

Divide the FTpax time for the event by the pax time for the winner of each class and multiply by 100. This gives you a sort of "grade" for how the class winner compares to the best pax time. You could also do this for real times but it wouldn't mean the same thing of course.

For example, in CS, if the class winning pax time was 54.100 and FTPax was 52.250, you would get

52.250 / 54.100 x 100 = 96.58.

IF you do the above and then sort the results, you will have one view of estimating how competitive the class winner is compared to other classes and the FTPax time.

What would be interesting also is to do this at various sites. You will probably see the street tire classes do better at Sanford and Rockingham than at Laurinburg for example.

I use this technique as one measure of how I did at a particular event. I wish I could say the numbers keep going up as I get better, but I don't think I'm really improving that much, and I know that we as a club keep getting more and more very fast drivers. Gee whiz! It's getting harder and harder to not move down in the pax every year.
