I'm seriously considering doing some tent camping for NCAC instead of staying at a hotel. Looks like there might be a couple options about 20 mins from the site.

Anybody else interested? Temps should be nice and comfy for tent camping during that time of year.

that sounds like fun.... Have you looked at any options? I'd consider doing that...

I'm planning on taking a day or two and doing some hiking too. I'm down for sure. A backup hotel close by would be nice in case of bad weather.

Most of the sites are privately owned/run places, but looks like a couple decent options.

Two of which were, with the times to the Auto X site.

Mi Mountain Campground 12min/8.5 miles

Rose Creek Campground 16 mins/8.4 miles

I looked up to see what kind of park service campgrounds are nearby and found Standing Indian campground is 21 mins away, that would probably be my preference as opposed to a private run place closer to town. It's a little more in the middle of nowhere which is certainly preferable to me. It's also a bit cheaper at $16/night, the others are about $20/night.

Camping that weekend would be great... Sadly NCAC conflicts with BMWCCA's Fall HPDE *again* this year, so I will miss it. Seems like it's feast or famine with these things.

I registered today for the NCAC, I reserved at the Comfort Inn.
Did my 1st AX with the GTI last Sunday with Triad.
For my 1st AX of the year and with a new car the results are encouraging.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

BTW, Highlands got a group camp site in the campground, I put myself and Austin down for a spot. No charge to people staying there which was nice of them.

You have any more info on this? Still debating if I'm coming up, but I still like this option....

I don't see a option to link directly to their post but it was posted on their FB page. I just hit them up via messenger to let them know I wanted a spot.
