This Sunday THSCC will run our first points autocross at Rockingham Dragway. There is currently a wait list for the event, so if you don't plan to come, please unregister! (http://www.thscc.com/prereg.html) Following is some important event information:

THSCC BRACKET DRAG
On Saturday night we will have 2 dedicated lanes for a bracket competition during the regular rockingham "midnight drags" night. Gates open at 6pm, not sure when practice starts/ends and competition begins. Event ends at midnight. $10 to watch, $15 to run. More can be found information here: http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/flyers/2004/msd1/

Cars CAN be left overnight at the dragstrip for people who come down on Saturday. I guess it would be a good idea to park where the pits will be the next day!

HOTELS
Rooms are available at Hampton Inn in Southern Pines on US 1 for the special rate of $59/night. This is about a 20 minute drive to/from Rockingham.

FOOD & AMENITIES
The Rockingham concessions will be open for lunch, which is good since there are no restaurants nearby. They serve "track food" - hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Restrooms with running water will be available during the event.

SCHEDULE
- Since setup needs to be done on Sunday morning, we are running a slightly delayed schedule.

Gates open 7AM
Course available to walk 9AM
Registration 9AM-10AM
Drivers meeting 10:30AM
First Car Off 11AM
** Group 1 drivers please pre-grid your cars before the driver's meeting
** First heat workers - come to the driver's meeting ready to go to work!

DIRECTIONS
http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/directions/

RUN GROUPS
- Group 1 = all Stock, Street Tire, and Pro classes
- Group 2 = SP, P, M, STS, STX, SSM, SM
- Novice and Ladies run with class
- Sign up at registration to work either morning or afternoon, then check in with the worker coordinator for a final assignment.

OTHER INFO
- The drag strip is absolutely OFF LIMITS on Sunday. Don't even think about it!
- EVERYONE at the event including visitors must sign the insurance waiver upon arrival and wear a wristband.
- There will be a worker at the entry to the lot handing out wristbands.
- Pit speed 5 MPH!
- Pick up your trash AND the trash of others
- $20 entry fee
- Trophies will be awarded at the end of the day

Just an FYI, the Hampton is basically full, they had a few handicap access rooms left. I'm at the Holiday Inn down the road, only $7 more per night. Looks like lots of rooms left.
