Hi all,
I'm a noob not sure if this has been answered before but how the heck do I make MSR stop trying to force me to take #14 race number?
When I register for the AutoX events it sticks on #14 and nothing I have tried is helping to change that.
Ideas?

Thanks!
-Tony

I have experienced the same problem. Deleting and re-adding the car does not help.

Was your preferred number 14?

Maybe last year. I used 41 and 14 before and those show in my Reserved Numbers now but I updated my MSR profile this year with new numbers. It's still stuck on 14, but only during registration for events. So, my guess is we need to find a way to 'un-reserve the old numbers.' That is what I need help with. Nowhere on MSR do I see where to do it as a user.

I emailed a couple of times last year. Tristan was able to change my number during registration at events, but he did not know what was causing the problem. I didn't make a fuss about it since I figured I was the only one with this freak issue...or the only freak with this one issue :D

Does changing the preferred numbers in your vehicle profile do anything?

I'm pinging our resident MSR experts. Honestly we might need MSR's tech support for this, not THSCC support.

I didn't see an e-mail or anything. :D

In regards to Tony's issue. I think I fixed it. He should be able to select a new number. If the number pool settings aren't changed though, the next number you register under will lock you in again.

For the registrar's out there, in your number pool, there is a box to check that says "Allow Alternates? - In addition to assigned number, member can select any other free number". Check that and it will fix the problem you described. I didn't mess with your number pool's settings, just deleted Tony's hold on #14 and # 41.

And IMHO, I'd create a new number pool each year. Yes, it doesn't hold permanent number's from the previous year, but it gives incentive for those that are crazy about having to have the same number to sign up for the first event of the year ASAP. If you so cared, you could hold a permanent number registration event each year to allow folks to put a lock on theirs early. There might even be a way to tie it to the club membership event?

Beautiful, I was able to get registered for points #4 as #11; now, can someone change me to #11 on event #3?

Thanks!
-Tony

PS, I agree it's probably a good idea to reset number pools each member year, this IS a big incentive for me since I bought vinyl numbers lol :car:

So yeah, my 'Reserved Numbers' have now disappeared from my MSR profile, which is a good thing.

So how do we change race numbers for an event that we already registered for like points event #3?
Does it have to be Tristan McBride?

The registrar is the best person to do it.

Sorry Tony, but I've been # 14 at THSCC and 41 at NCR events for 10 years. Is there a way to check which numbers are already taken? Are the numbers part of your individual profile or are they your individual profile and the club data?
