Dan, Are you going to drag the STi? From what I've read the folks with race experience are in the 13.0x - 13.1x range stock.

Chris, I wish I could attend but I'll be visiting with family that night.

I think the STi's could break into the 12's at that track, bone stock :D
Cool weather and a great launch would be helpful. Make sure your tire pressure is high enough to get some good wheelspin and avoid axle hop

Anyone know how close to sea level the track is?

So how does this work? Do we just show up and get in line? Do we have a special tarheel time set aside?

Is someone going to have a helmet I can borrow? :D

Seriously helmets are not required for by the track unless you are going really fast.

I think you are required to wear a helmet if you are in the 13's. At least thats how it is at Coastal Plains. I have never been to the Rock...

I believe those are NHRA rules, but I've ran 13's at various tracks and no one has ever asked me to wear a helmet. Maybe the rule is "faster then 13's".

Sound's like a lot of "FAST" Driver's or is it Fast Car's may be showing up. If I am not mistaken, didn't a couple Stock Miata's Win this thing in the last couple years?

So are some of you really running your Trucks? I don't have a Miata anymore so I thought if my Truck is even slower, I should Run that.

It just might be fun to line a couple Tow Truck's up. Not sure if the Rock would be impressed.

I"m still not sure I"m going but if I do it will be to see if Karl K can Win at His Drag Race. Not sure he's even been to one but He's got one of them Stock Miata's.

Sweet.

I was the first annual "Drag Queen" running 16.6 in my Miata (I think the slips are still in my glovebox actually). Art was runner up. I'm pretty sure that he was glad he wasn't the one wearing the fancy dress at the next meeting though.

Diane ~ who misses this kind of thing with the gang.

I remember that meeting, and remember thinking WTF were you wearing the dress. That was back when I was a club noob. :)

Then you will be late.

Typically the strip opens a little after 6, gates are open 6-ish. If you get there too late (after 9 or 10PM) then you will miss the start of the bracket race and won't get to participate in that.

I'm not sure when they stop "teching" cars for test and tune runs.

I don't even remember them Teching me? Guess when you got one them Slow little car's they really care.

Following up on "Being there by 6"

the Early rounds are just practice I beleive. I'm such an Expert because I try and do this once every 20 years. It's like most anything. If you've never done it, come down. It will be a hoot and really much easyer that Auto/Cross plus no Corner working. Just Stand around either Talking Smack or listening to the other's doing it. My choice is #2.

I'll ask my boss about Bring the 600lbs of Tork Veichle but since there name is all over the side. I think it would make it to picture's on the net quicker than you can say. . . I need a new Job. :(

I would prefer to run my Pickup if for no other reason, my new car has very used tires and has 85,000 miles on it. Anyone want to put there big Veichle out there?

Thanks
