I cheated on the club today with Triad

And it was pretty good! lol. I hit their Greensboro event and saw a couple folks I knew there.

Almost every car was within the 32-34 second range, I guess the short course leaves less room for mistakes so the times get a bit closer. I think there was also quite a few people there who were fairly seasoned auto-xers. I think my best time was a 33.030 but their display wasn't working my last 3 runs so i'll have to wait for the results online to be sure.

They certainly have gotten pretty good at using that site and it was still a lot of fun even with the short course. It's less than an hour to get there for me, so there's a good chance i'll be hitting more events they have there.

I'm also slowly getting decent at driving the Miata, every run today was faster than the last, hopefully for NCAC I can bring our numbers up, lol.

They do a good job with that site. Most of those triad folks are pretty decent people believe it or not. Good to see you are tuning up for this coming weekend!

Fun site to run, but they apparently dropped my fastest time - I ran a 33.601 (ostensibly clean - Chad confirmed, since he was working when I was running), but they indicated my fastest run was 34.114 (which was my last run, and I tried something completely different and it was definitely slower than my fastest time). I was supposed to have won CAM. Sucks that I didn't have my phone mount to record with. I've PMed the person that put up the results to see if they have a breakdown of all of the results, because I am reaaaally confident that I had a clean run. Next closest to me was 33.672.

Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things - I was just really proud of my fastest time, and it's really disappointing to see it didn't count for some reason or another.

TSCC drops the fastest time for all THSCC members. It's in their by-laws

That must be it, then! lol. I got a response from Wes Emerson, and he said the times are on his laptop at home, and that he would forward them on to me when he gets the chance. So I guess we'll see how badly I screwed up then!

I saw the course map, I did not like it, I did not go..... :mrgreen:

I have enjoyed their events in the past; however, due to domestic politics I can only make time for our events.
The few make the majority look bad in our eyes unfortunately. They are still plenty of good folks there. They have some good locations too.

I just moved to Greensboro this week and am 10 minutes away from the coliseum parking lot where the Triad club runs often. After mostly doing rallyx for years, its tempting to not have to drive hours to a site, spend the whole day, and then spend hours driving back. It would be a good excuse to get some decent summer tires for the WRX.

Before buying tires i'd wait to make sure they get to autocross there again. Somebody managed to flip a C5 Z06 that weekend apparently after I left.

Yeah, very unfortunate turn of events there. They were scheduled to have an event back at the proper Greensboro coliseum lot next year (same management). Hopefully that still happens.
