Here is one of the sites TSSC uses in Winston Salem for comparison:

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1274429 ... !1e3?hl=en

They usually use the lot south of the building but I've run one event in the west lot. The south lot is very hilly.

They also use the west lot at this site: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.0614082 ... !1e3?hl=en

It is both SMALL and hilly. This one uses a loop at the west end of the west lot.

I see what appears to be a "hold this date" is up on FB. I still plan to attend. Will be my first Autocross in years.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I see the Facebook event for this has 133 people with RSVP going. I wonder how many of those will convert into attendees. Will we be able to support so many people?

Just a suggestion, but at a new site with limited space, it might be beneficial to make this a special event with limited entries. Maybe even limit entries to people that you know have an idea of what's going on. It's kind of a crummy thing to do, but you don't want this to turn into a fiasco on the first trip there.

Entry cap is probably a good call unfortunately, especially given the potential that we may have to set up the morning of. As soon as I confirm the contract, I will make the MSR event. Probably sometime midweek. I will post the event link here for a week or so for members only before making it public.

Any ideas on how many cars can be in paddock?

I would agree on a cap.

Back in the day when participation was high for regular events, if I remember correctly, we were capping registration for all events (not sure how much if any we ever turned anyone way because there was always a percentage of no-shows so walkup was likely to get in anyhow).

But with the RBC night series we knew a combo of location and date (did we do that on weekdays after work?) that attendence might be VERY high as it was super attractive. So I think it was a bit of "by invitation only" to keep the number manageable.

I tend to agree w/ this as well, or, and I hate to sound biased, limit this drivers w/ at least a few runs under their belt so they know what we expect. I'd say anyone brand spanking new is welcome to watch, but maybe not run in this inaugural event. We REALLY need to be on our A game in regard to this first outing so we make sure we're invited back next year.

I'm in agreement with a reasonable cap. Maybe if we went out there and did a site eval prior to doing the event. I'm willing to meet there and look it over and see how many cars it can reasonably support.

Also, I think that this may be a good event to make novices have a mandatory rider especially those w/o experience again just to be on the safe side if we don't make this a restricted event. I know the dangers of unrestricting it other to other than space issues, but if one of the benefits of having a local site is to draw more new Ax'ers and especially those that logistically can't participate often then closing it to a lot of those same people defeats that purpose if only temporarily
