Please do not hate me for bringing this up. Wet ground and run off areas at NCCAR is a bad combination.
We have had many close calls in the dry, one minor accident in the dry, and one awful crunch on an S2000 in the wet off the VDA no less. Will we can the idea of the circuit cross if it is too wet and do a traditional VDA and straight away finish like we did in the past. I really love the circuit cross and the grip of NCCAR; however, scared @#$%less of going off if the grass is wet.
Otherwise...my favorite place to run THSCC events is at our NCCAR! It is a great site, awesome management, and THE GRIP! LOVELY. The wet run off....not so.

I have to agree w/ this sentiment. Best advice is to be mind full of the rain and bad spots and drive accordingly. Right now is shows a high percentage of rain on Sunday, but that is 5 days out. Hoping for the best on Sunday.... I'll run the new conti daily tires if it's raining, much better grip than the ZII's right now in the wet.

I've been off at high speed in the rain at NCCAR on a VDA only autocross. Its not a question of what parts of the site we can use, its just a question of what speeds we can support.

Since sign ups look a little sparse we are thinking of staring on the straight leading to the VDA with a large slalom followed by a sprint across the VDA ending in a pivot cone following that we sprint back across the VDA to another pivot cone then back onto the course which has a total of maybe 5 cones. This minimizes cone calls and the need for workers.

j/k We were already talking about making sure we account for both contingencies. :D

The biggest issue is the proximity to the embankment right below the spectator area and not really having a course where you're pinging off the limiter in 2nd (55mph+). Other than that, we've run there several times in the wet.

I hope to make it but my wife sprung a last minute trip on me that she needed to visit family in PA. Better this weekend than next I guess....

As far as running the NCAC there in the future, or ever, it would be totally doable but the paddock walk would definitely bring out the worst in people unless we had a dedicated shuttle vehicle (car trailer?) running back & forth. It would/could be such an awesome new format IMO. Anyway, just had to say it.

I think George posted the perfect course map for you in that other thread. :)

Shamelessly my only class win is at NCCAR in the rain. But it was VDA and front stretch only.

Hey guys, I won't be able to make this. My grandfather passed last night and I need to head up to PA sunday for the service.

Just giving a heads up so somebody can figure out somebody to do tech.

THSCC has always run in whatever weather happens. I remember well slogging through ankle-deep water to get into my car at Rocky Mount.
