So the wife and I will be sharing the miata at the VMP event. As we're both novices we can't ride together which could be interesting as it'll be her first time with a stick shift.

I was wondering if I could have someone ride along with her for the first couple of runs, just in case she get's mixed up with the controls? She has the basics down but can get flustered under stress.

I'm sure we can find somebody to ride along, I'm technically registered in Novice but i've pretty much fulfilled all the requirements of not being a novice anymore, i'm just in it for the season trophy this year lol.

That said, if worse comes to worse I could ride along as well but i'm sure we can get a more seasoned veteran to do a ride along.

Francis, come talk to me at the event. We can potentially work something out. The no novices with novices rule is primarily intended to prevent "hey, watch THIS!" type incidents. Exceptions can be made, but must have approvals of all officers. Otherwise we will of course find an instructor.

Francis, I'll be glad to ride with her. I've ridden with many a new to shifting driver. AX is pretty much dump the clutch, shift once and go.
