Thank you for those who answered the call! I have the following as registration and tech assignments on Friday and Saturday:

Registration:
Michael Miller
Rodney Wright
Francis Chan
Liz Chan

Tech:
Chief of Tech
Zach Williams

I am going to backstop as needed with any and all issues plus I am driving the bus up. I will be in touch soon with additional details guys but until then thank you all again for the willingness to help.

I suggest a 2nd tech person and a good area at the host hotel to set this up. 2 stations will make short work of the inspections. I'd consider a unique sticker for the window so it's not easily dup'd. Sorry, just thinking out loud....

How does tech normally go at these big events, it sounds like we're planning on doing registration and tech at the host hotel, which is fine by me. Will we be doing this on the friday previous to the event?

I'm pretty much open to however works best since i've never attended an event this big, as well as tech'd one.

Edit: I see the schedule on MSR so that answers most of the questions.

I assumed by putting Chief of Tech he's talking about me, so we should have 2 guys already.

If the tech station could be the entrance to the hotel folks could drop off their bags, check in and get tech'd all at the same time!

That could end up with regular hotel guests getting their car tech'd though...

Chad, sorry about sounding assuming there. I should have checked with you again about being our point person for tech. I remember talking about it before and that was what I was rolling with. Let me know if there are any issues or if we need to make adjustments. We should have plenty of room in the parking lot behind the hotel for tech where you and Zach can just set up and have people roll through until a specified time.

I am going to be at VIR this weekend so we can talk about it more at that time or later depending on what you prefer.

Thanks to all again for the extra help.

I assume the officers are going to have a logistics meeting to have everything sorted out? Where will registration be held? How will we check in drivers? Hand out info? What room will we be in?

I'm sure you guys/gals have this all sorted. Just keep us worker bees in the loop and give us a heads up on what we need to do please...

Any word on the official hotel yet? Folks were asking me yesterday in Danville. Thanks!

Matt The official hotel is the Hampton. We have a permanent rate there of $119. Sometimes Travelocity has lower but this rate is guaranteed as are the rooms through 9/5ish.

You can book with this direct link

http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/C/CLTKGHX-TAR-20151002/index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG

I snoozed and let the deadline for the THSCC rate slip by. However, with my AAA discount, I just booked a double room at the Hampton for $109/night (add 13% local hotel/sales tax).

There are a bunch of hotels clustered around this hotel, all with similar rates. (Search google maps for "Gateway Lane NW, Concord, NC, 28027")

Hampton Inn & Suites
Wingate by Wyndham
Hilton Garden Inn
Sleep Inn & Suites
Comfort Suites Concord Mills
SpringHill Suites Charlotte Concord
Holiday Inn Express & Suites

We stayed in this area during the Mustang 50th Anniversary weekend last year. There are several eateries in staggering distance. There's a Texas Roadhouse, but I think Rodney liked the "Quaker Steak & Lube" two blocks away.

yup, roger that on the Quaker Steak and Lube. Cold beer and great wings. Always a winning combo in my book!

I need to double check to see how many helmet tech stickers I have left, we might need some more since I suspect we'll have a lot of folks who haven't run our events before.

Also I saw it mentioned about using some kind of unique sticker, I could probably find something that would be somewhat unique for that, and not just a simple colored dot.

Anybody looking for a roomate for friday night? I was originally planning on just coming up saturday morning but I think I can make it up Friday evening as well.

How are the entries coming? The Motorsports Reg "entries" link shows that either there are none at all or the feature is disabled.

Thanks,

Dick

I was wondering that too. Is there any reason the entry list is private until you register?

You F Street guys actually have a Camaro to contend with now, it's nice to see another 5th gen Camaro registered for once, haha.

Last year he beat my 2012 automatic. Hopefully the 2015 will be enough this year. :)
