I have thought about this allot. Last night we had our officers meeting. It was decided to inventory what we have and then order.
I agree we need to clean a few up, but there is countless amount of cones that need to be tossed beforehand. Can't we just order 25 to 50 new ones NOW! It takes over 2 weeks to get in an order and NCAC is coming soon. Face it....we need cones NOW. I am sorry people, I agree with ROB. I hit a cone at NCCAR...it left a dust print of itself on my bumper. It is like hitting sandpaper. Although I keep a nice car, I am not too worried....but occasional members who turn out to events might hate this. Rally Cross Members, we need to examine setting aside a mandatory inventory for you. I think that is the best way to keep everyone happy. Putting the stuff we have out there is embarrassing. Also...lets stop ordering the black rubber base cones....I have dented the @#$% out of my rocker panels on those turds. OH YEAH....sight lines are impaired if the cone is so trashed it is no longer orange.

BUS DAY is 8/15/15 and 9/20/15. We need help!

As for cones, we just need to clean and sort what we have first. We will be scheduling a bus day in late September and need people's participation there for sure.

Here are a few pics from this weekends event from my course walk, and a few from the small area of the course I worked. We don't need to clean and sort. We'll be throwing this garbage away and getting new cones. It really looks terrible that we have this stuff let alone keep having to use it on courses. The ones covered in rubber and or dirt from rallycross are just as bad. Nobody with a nice car wants to hit cones like this because they destroy the paint. Steven has a few nasty scratches in his front bumper from some he hit at NCCAR that was covered in rallycross mud. People who take pride in their equipment don't want to deal with crap like that. There are tons of these split nasty cones in the trailer. There is no reason to not spend the money on this, it tangibly improves the quality of the event.

I bought those black based cones many years ago via amazon because they were cheap. Didn't think about the impact for that heavy rubber base and stacking. I vote give all of those to rally and purchase some new all orange cones. Agree w/ all, we need to look and drive good at the event we are hosting.

I ran with Triad at Danville a month ago and they had all new cones from the tire rack and it was a glorious site to see on course walks.

Yup, those are gonna be the easiest place to order them from. They are actually from the SCCA, not Tire Rack, but they sell them supposedly for a reasonable price.

come to think of it, a heavier base cone would be better on loose dirt/sand.

Matt The official hotel is the Hampton. We have a permanent rate there of $119. Sometimes Travelocity has lower but this rate is guaranteed as are the rooms through 9/5ish.

You can book with this direct link

We would like to officially request some help from our members: we need 3 volunteers to help on Friday evening with registration at the event hotel. If you could please let us know through the forum or through email if you are willing to help with this on Friday. This will count as your work assignment. :D

Thank you all and we are excited to see you out at NCAC!
