I have been following this discussion on this forum, and only slightly on facebook. I can't resist adding a few comments as someone who has been autocrossing with THSCC continuously since 1985. My course design experience has not been extensive (my most famous was the "Spitzner Spirochete" at the Belk warehouse site). However, I think I am able to judge courses fairly.
Point 1; THSCC is no worse than any other club in course design. In fact, I believe that over the years, we have developed some expertise in doing good courses in spite of (or because of) site limitations that some other clubs never experience.
Point 2; We are still THE Premier Amatuer Motorsports Organization of North Carolina, and anyone who is ashamed of belonging should get the hell out. This constitutes one long time member's opinion, and no criticism of our NCAC record is justified.

Neal:

I agree. We have a lot of long narrow sites that resemble runways. :o It dictates our course design. I have seen several NCAC courses that have had design "flaws" too. Everyone has to drive the same course.....

Here is the link to the online registration for the Hampton Inn which is the official NCAC hotel. There are only 20 rooms and the link expires so please book quickly. You might find a lower rate on any given day but this rate is guaranteed through the expiration date which is November 3.

Do y'all still need volunteers to help out with early registration?

I think there was a glitch in the matrix. 8)

Liz and I should be there early-ish on Friday evening as we intend to try and avoid the rush-hour traffic.

Depends on how you measure these things.

I think this belongs in the other thread :)

The blown up one may still have more track miles on it.

I heard there was supposedly a discount code for NCAC for THSCC members, I didn't recall seeing it anywhere though. Maybe it was mentioned at a meeting I missed a bit back.

Would somebody mind posting what it is? Or PM is fine too.

I am thinking of going to NCAC, yes I know it is next weekend... My issue, I have the vette and I have the race tires but with this time of year I will want to drive on my street rubber there and maybe on the track if water is out. Is there anyone that has room to take my race tires with them? They fit in the car but I have no right side visibility when they do...

Austin might be able to fit a couple in the Camaro. Pretty sure nothing will fit in the Miata, haha.

Or, you could drop them off at the Bus maybe? There's probably enough room in there for the trip down as long as you can grab them and not be in the way.

Talya is done for the year and is having fun interviewing with small schools like Harvard... Such a nerd.
